I would recommend a couple of things

  1. Use thinner coats of paint. It's the key to a perfect paint job I swear! The first coat should be so light that not everything is totally painted (you should still see primer in some places, especially the edges)

  2. If you want gold joysticks, I wouldn't paint them. Paint adheres especially poorly to rubber and if you're constantly touching them it doens't last long. Instead you can use a PS3 or xbox one joystick that is colored. They're really easy to replace and work just as well - it's just the cover of the joystick that changes not the actual mechanical bit of the joystick. Here is a link for gold xbox one joysticks on amazon

  3. If you want to have letters on your buttons I would reccomend using vinyl or waterslide decals. Vinyl decals are probably the easiest but have a bit of an edge so might be annoying when playing. Waterslide decals have no edges and feel just like the button itself. The other option is to spray paint over the vinyl letters and then peel it off. It may also be hard to find vinyl letters that small. I would measure the buttons and see if these could fit...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U1I54KW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  4. For clear coats I always recommend automotive clear coat -- specifically spray max 2k high gloss. It's about 20 bucks on amazon so it's a bit pricey but if you want a super shiny finish (you can check out some I've done to see how shiny) it's the best.

  5. For the logo in the middle rather than trying to spray paint with a stencil I would try to get a custom decal made. I don't think a waterslide decal would work very well with a black background (and such a light text design) so I would recommend vinyl - which is the cheaper and easier to find option. If you clear coat the vinyl afterwards and try to find someone that makes extra thin ones unless you look really closely it looks painted on.

  6. Just wanted to mention that the clear coat I recommended is also really good for buttons! The buttons eventually chip but because automotive clear coat is the hardest stuff out there it delays the process a bit.

I guess it depends on what stick type you use for the Elite. My suggestion would be to use the default length sticks with the CQCX. It's a convex version of their CQC stick. They don't sell it on their website anymore but hey Amazon.

Another thing you could do is try the longer stick with the Alpha. It's a slight concave but the shortest length you can get from them. It also has a wider surface thumb area.

I've tried both and I've defaulted to the longer stick that came with the elite. All in all once you use something for so long you just get used to it. Just like the first guy said. These are good for raising your sensitivity without losing a huge amount of accuracy.
Either way good luck

Personally I don’t think they are too tall but that’s my preference . It took a little getting used to for me but now they feel much better than stock . They do make one that is about half the height but I like the tall one better .Mid rise : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LMHX16K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_B9j2Db3SEK9A0

I put some Kontrol Freeks on the standard stick as well because I just like the overall feel better. What I recommend is to maybe buy the small kontrol Freeks they have and then put those on the taller sticks for a bit more height and better grip. Will link some of them.

FPS Freek CQC - Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LMHX16K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_N6FzwbAYDJJ2B

CQCX - Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MMN7W9A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_n7FzwbDTZB1NN

KontrolFreek Alpha - Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O4FQC9K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_i8FzwbM07CC3Z

The alphas don't really add height but they do add more surface to the grip similar to the 360 controller. Hope this helps.

  • Touch Protect on Amazon
  • Joystick Caps

I've tried several caps and those fit the best for me.
Edit: the Touch Protect used to be cheaper, US$4.99 a couple of years ago, but the customer service is good.

I haven't used thumbsticks but some of the reviews from these mentioned relieving left thumb pain : https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MMN7W9A/ Best of luck.

I use control freeks (standard ones with grip on top and the ones released when cod wwII came out) on a regular ps4 controller and I recommend only having one on your right stick. Its something you definitely should try and get comfortable with because I do believe it betters your aim from experience and others input. I know some come with a shorter and slightly taller stick always go higher.

My elite controller grips came loose so I removed them over a year ago. I've been using these ever since. They are a little loose but still comfortable. I had to snip a bit where it fits against the paddles but it works.

u/lonicamewinski · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Nice, thanks for your help!

Are these the ones you mean?

There's about a hundred different variants on Amazon... I can see the ones on there that you mean, they stick out tons, I don't like the look of those.

u/Pastamanity · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I recommend using thumb grips, they make such a big difference. I use these they are pretty good for the price.

u/DarkWolfen21 · 1 pointr/vita

Ever try these? They're made for Xbox One sticks, but I'm sure they could fit the Vita, as videos about using Xbox One covers on the Vita were up. The ones I use can't be found anymore. I don't know what happened.

In the end, there are still much cheaper options on eBay!

I can imagine getting used to a controller could be quite frustrating. PS4 controllers can get hella slippy, I've got these rubber thumbstick covers that help with accuracy and make the controller way easier to handle... They aren't going to make you better but I can imagine them being helpful for someone starting off with a controller...

u/Atonemen7 · 1 pointr/CoDCompetitive

With how loose the default stick is on the X1 controller I'd go with regular CQC and not the signature cqc. The concavity and dots provides the best grip instead of their logo being on it and it wearing down much easier. The dots give your fingers something to grip. If you are looking for a domed one then the CQC X.

u/mikeyhaugzz · 1 pointr/scufgaming

Cool, thanks for the reply! I was even thinking something as simple as this link.
Amzn mag thumb kit
Only thing is I might have to file down the bottom of the dome if it’s too big.

u/zachpeanut61 · 5 pointsr/gaming

you can make them or you can find online. they fit in there just like a normal button would. I had the exact same ones for my ps4 controller
buttons- https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Bullet-Buttons-Raplacement/dp/B00TFSRVBY

u/Farming-For-Gil · 1 pointr/CruciblePlaybook

I got grips for my Xbox controller to help with ads sensitivity. Having a longer joystick gives a more precise range of motion(giggity). I was able to up my sensitivity to 8 and now all my movement/aiming feel much smoother.

u/TacoSupremeVictory · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

This is the same controller you're talking about that released with the S. The only complaint I have is the tiny thumb sticks, but I found some cheap grips here that make it a lot better.

u/Wretro · 2 pointsr/splatoon

The Pro Controller caps were imported from Japan.

If all you're after are green/pink caps in general, you could also try these from Amazon. I had them before I got the other set and they looked quite good, especially for the price.

u/thedarkerride · 1 pointr/CruciblePlaybook

I've had the same thing happen to mine. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these for your next one.

u/random_human_being_ · 2 pointsr/emulation

Glad to be of help. By the way, I don't know if an analog stick is hard to grip, but just in case I've just found these.

u/Quillz · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Word. I actually super glue these:

to these:

Granted this is all Xbox One stuff on my side, but it might help you if you find the metal ones hurt too much. You said there was a link for the Switch joysticks somewhere in this post?

u/Tjockwave · 1 pointr/n64

I've thought about this too. Only thing I've come up with is getting something like this: https://www.amazon.com/GamerPack-Classic-Xbox-One/dp/B00Q51XYG0/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1477983796&sr=8-13&keywords=xbox+stick+extender
and attatching it somehow. This is JUST me pondering, I'm not saying I've done it, but couldn't it work?

u/AleXavieRen · 1 pointr/xboxone

I got the home button color kit @ Amazon:

I had bought one of these a while back:

My elite controller was fine, but was just looking for something to spruce it up.

u/luna-luna · 1 pointr/halo

FPS Freek. I Bought a pair when I played a lot of reach and GOW3. I only kept one on the right analog stick. At first I thought ok bullshit i just got hustled but after playing with it on for about a month playing with out it was very difficult it could be that I got used to it. I never noticed any improvements in the amount of headshots/shots on target but it the extra leverage gained makes aiming a smoother process.

EDIT: Under greater inspection the pic OP provided seems to be stick covers. My Bad.

while im at it Here is another alternative to FPS freek

u/Frxyaa · 1 pointr/Rainbow6

I use the Kontrol Freek Alpha, they dont give much height but they make the sticks a lot wider/larger than the tiny xbox one sticks.

You can get them here

u/NotFromMilkyWay · 2 pointsr/xbox

Those won't help, because they come lose on both sides, both parts. I just put one of these on the controller:

But it was much cheaper than that, think I paid $6.
