There's a few different ones on Amazon that are pretty cheap.

  • Nyko - Holds 10
  • Bluecell - Holds 8
  • IDS - Holds 18
  • Hori - Holds 12 (hori is awesome)
  • BangGood - Holds 18

There are a few others but I think these are probably the better ones. Hope you find what you're looking for!

>As it stands now, buying a Vita, 16 GB memory stick (not even 32 GB!) protective case, and recently release game costs almost as much as a PS4.

Where are you getting these figures?

Lego batman Vita for $200...been this price for weeks

Best buy just had a long running sale for the 16 GB memory cards for $30. Target and Walmart have been running a clearance on 8GB cards at $10-$15 for the last month....not the best deal and you might have to swap cards here and there but still

PS vita case for $8.34

PS vita case for $13.18

A new game will run you $35-$40. So if you want to run everything brand new, system + card + a game is around $300. Still $100 less than a ps4

If you look for deals you can always find a good price, I paid $170 for a brand new 3g/wifi Vita with an 8g memory card.

You want a screen protector for the back, at the very least. The front is pretty hardy, but the back needs something, or it's going to pick up scratches when you just set it down.

Personally, I went with a generic-brand crystal case with a generic protector on both the back and front screens. It doesn't look amazing, but it gets the job done without increasing the bulk of the system so much that it won't fit into whatever case you buy.

The Pull N Go Folio is a pretty nice way to transport it. The pull-out case is hard enough to endure getting thrown around in a bag, and you have the option of also packing it into the full folio if you want more room for cartridges/accessories.

Vita OG pros:

  • OLED screen
  • Single-piece face

    Vita OG cons:

  • Heavier
  • Shorter battery life
  • No onboard memory for game saves
  • Back touch surface is poorly suited for large hands

    Vita Slim Pros:

  • Lighter
  • Longer battery life
  • Better-sized back touch surface
  • Onboard memory for game saves
  • More peripherals and storage options

    Vita Slim Cons:

  • Two-piece face
  • Onboard memory is only usable if you don't use a memory card
  • LCD screen (still looks great though)

    General Thoughts:

  • Go with the slim model. The cons far outweigh the pros of the OG model.
  • Get (at least) a 16 gig card. Ample space for rotating through digital games, you'll just have to be willing to delete what you're not playing when it gets full. I have a 32 and it's been going strong since launch day.
  • Get a case and a wrist strap for it. I use Wii controller straps because they kick ass and in a ton of colors. Others on this sub can recommend cases. I really like this one
  • Just buy the damn thing. There's so many good games, especially if you're willing to play outside of your comfort zone.

That's what I use. Great value for the money. The case is very tough, has a little mesh pocket thingy and card holder that holds 8 cartridges and two memory cards. It has two elastics intended to hold the vita down, but if you put the vita on top of the elastics, you get extra shock protection and extra space to fit a USB cable.

Not very fancy or sleek, but I like it!

u/Jack_Hat · 1 pointr/vita

Do what I do and get a carrying case with a hook thingy on it and hook it onto the loop of your pants, either front right or front left.

You will damage your screen and ear buds if you wrap them around. I did the pocket thing for a while and it didnt turn out so great and my screen cracked after 6 months of being careless. I use my case now and it's super convenient. You can find a bunch on amazon. Using a case without a hook thingy is kind of pointless because the it's too thick to carry in your pocket.

It's worked for me for years. I have a cover thing for my vita and it fits perfectly along with my ear buds that I keep in the netting. The one I have doesn't have that flap thing, but instead has like pockets attached to the netting where you can keep games and memory cards.

This is what I have. Love it to bits.

Your best bet might just be getting a standard l2/r2 grip and then adding this: Caokk Upgrade L3 R3 Trigger Grips Handle Holder Gaming Joypad Case for PS Vita 1000 PS Vita 2000 PSV 1000 2000 (White) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076VQHK57/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_081DAbMXZ5240

Like this? Can't tell if this is the actual product like this (PSVITA1000 for L2 / R2 buttons mounted grip cover Black by Answer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0191F6L1G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Cn-VBbJ2F6CY5) or if it is just a 3D render. A lot of the China ones are just renders, not actual product shots.

In another thread here someone mentioned this $10 case for the slim on Amazon. I have it here waiting for the new Vita to be released. It smells a bit out of the package, so I'm kept it out to air out a bit. Otherwise it seems to fit my needs for a solid yet compact Vita case. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GZGE3OM/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also ordered the official Sony cradle and screen protectors from Japan, they should arrive here within the next week or so. I assumed both of these may not get released here.

How are these Switch cartridge binders? I have read mixed reviews related to how securely they hold the cartridges. I've been contemplating getting one of these instead.

u/Dobiedobes · 1 pointr/vita

I believe I have the Insignia Vault Case though the description says it fits both the 1000 and 2000 models and mine most certainly does not fit the 2000.

u/coopasetic · 1 pointr/vita

I got one of these. It was really cheap and besides the fact that it is difficult to take off, I really like it. It comes with the sticker style screen protector.

u/Norfaire · 1 pointr/vita

sony made official sleeves for their vita 2000 models if that's what you have: https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00F27JK1G/ref=pd_ybh_a_80?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=NANVAQ4S793B8Z8FH41F&th=1

you can also find different types of sleeves on ebay if you search "sony psv soft pouch."

u/Nega_Duck · 2 pointsr/vita

The only grip you should consider hard to track down though

u/M3YARI · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

What about this one?

u/spinthelights · 1 pointr/vita

Have used this for almost 2 years - small, light and takes up barely more room than the Vita itself.

Hori Hard Pouch for PS Vita

Do you think this case would add enough bulk to be a substitute to the triggers?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007IQ6T22/ref=ox_sc_act_image_3?ie=UTF8&smid=A14FJL5O9CH7QK

Sorry for the full link, on my phone.

u/PUSClFER · 3 pointsr/vita

I'm sure there are covers/shells available to cover that damage completely if it does indeed bother OP.

(i.e. something like this)

u/Delusional1 · 2 pointsr/vita

Do you mean a hard enclosure?

http://www.amazon.com/eForCity%C2%AE-Compatible-Sony-PS-Vita-PSV/dp/B00AELULMC/ref=sr_1_30?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1412909960&sr=1-30&keywords=vita+pouch

or a pouch?

Sorry, don't know how to hyperlink on here and can only find the ones for the OLED.
As for games... These are a few JRPGs I own.

Neptunia Re;Birth1

Atelier (Arland: ) Series

Others:
Killzone: Mercenary

Gravity Rush

Uncharted Golden Abyss

There's a lot more games to try out, but these are the ones that stick out for me.

u/HyperionTypeX · 1 pointr/vita

I have mine in a generic aluminum cover from eBay Link. It's carried everyday for me no matter where I go, and the metal case is replaced every few months since I log a few hundred kilometers towing it every day and the case takes quite a lot of dings and dents. When not being played, it's stored in my belt mounted bag.

u/applekwisp · 2 pointsr/vita

I carry mine to college all the time. Along with my macbook, android, graphing/scientific calc, etc. I even keep in in the very back compartment of my bag where it likely the least protected. I have it in a hard case of course so I'm not even the least bit worried about it. I think you're just going to have to get a case and suck it up. As someone else said the safest place it can be is with you. If you are okay with carrying even one of the items I mentioned your vita will be fine.

I use: http://www.amazon.com/dreamGEAR-Case-Bundle-PlayStation-model-PCH-1000/dp/B0072LGI42/ref=zg_bs_3010609011_22. Even comes with a game case, which while not amazing (it's awful), will still hold 8 games inside the box.

u/Debrezen · 1 pointr/NSCollectors

I use this to hold all of my cartridges and it works wonderfully without any potential for damage to the games. It’s a bit on the bigger side compared to what you are already using (though smaller than some other suggestions), but I think you’ll find your options extremely limiting as you go down in size sadly.
