Well this book isn't about fitness per se, but you could say it's related, especially if you're a fan of dance. I just finished reading the autobiography of Vera Zorina, who was a stunningly beautiful and talented Norwegian ballerina, as well as the second wife of Balanchine. She was a strong, pioneering woman partly responsible for bringing ballet to film in the early 20th century and making the filming of technical, choreographed scenes in movies feel fluid and normal. She's funny and a great writer, too. Basically she's this total badass. And helllooo, body goals. Anyway I recommend it! You can still watch some of her old dance numbers on Youtube.

That isn't how sources work.

This is the original blog posting that all 3 of those "sources" came from.

That blog cites two WW2 fighter pilot memoirs, Dancing in the Skies and Typhoon Pilot, both of which are pretty obscure. Dancing with the Skies isn't online anywhere that I can see, but Google Books has Typhoon Pilot, and it does indeed describe beer carried in Typhoon wing tanks. So it seems likely that fighters were used as improvised beer-tankers, but that's not a detailed confirmation of the story or the picture.

Have you ever read or heard of the book Bare: The Naked Truth About Stripping? If so, what do you think about it?

The Little Girl at the Window. The author is Japanese, and the story is autobiographical. Don't forget to flair this as solved using the instructions in the sidebar!

Edit: Correct title. Got my wires crossed for a second there, sorry!

The Forgotten Highlander : A British soldier in WWII who spent years as a slave laborer on the Burmese railway. This book made me realize that while things in my life may suck, they could be much much worse.

recently i came across the book the forgotten highlander. Unit 731 was in charge of testing and developing newer weapons. while horrific, its nowhere near close to the horrors other experienced through much more conventional methods, designed to force prisoners to comply in order to move resources for the japanese war effort. this book gave me a few horrible nightmares, but its worth the read.
