> my neighbor had been a dick lately and since he seen to not know how to park he keeps hitting my and I've notice that I've been getting a lot of light scratches on it lately.

> but now I've seem to find several nails and screws lately around my tires i have a feeling its him but I'm not sure.

> So i wanna see any recommendation on dashcams that are good to see if its him or anyone doing it. Any prize would do since i don't mind spending cash on it.

So a couple questions.

  • Where you live can you install a weather proof IP/Security camera outside? This would be ideal, as they are made for this purpose, and have a lot of neat features. - IR night vision, motion sensor, upload to cloud via Wifi (no need for a separate purchase of a mobile wifi hotspot or a contract with a Cellphone/LTE network.)

  • So a dash cam would be 2ndary IMHO. However, still have a few more questions. Do you want cloud feature? - Cloud feature is really cool Upload/download/streaming, Cellphone text message notification(s) of G sensor activation(s) while in parking mode, Over speed notification(s) via cellphone text message. However, to activate the cloud it requires a ($50-100 USD) separate purchase of a Mobile wifi hotspot. (Limitations with in the Cloud network itself Upload/download/streaming limitations.) (Limitations with in the Cellphone/LTE network of the mobile wifi hotspot Data upload/download, coverage, ect.) - Anyways, it is a really cool feature, if you have money, and you like getting cellphone text message notification(s) it is kind of worth it.

  • What is the vehicle you are installing this dash cam into? - Luxury/High End vehicles, and some lower end vehicles have a specific/unique sleep mode. This is annoying as hell to deal with. It will require a specific/unique hardwire setup and will complicate hardwire kits/parking mode enabling.

  • What is the weather ranges you encounter? - Extremely hot climates have specific requirements for the type of dash cam that you install. Some dash cams will not be recommended based off of this.

What is your expectation for video quality?

In the dashcam world there are two very specific types of dash cams.

  • Excellent video quality, Fair build quality, Lackluster parking mode dash cams: These are built for new dash cam buyers wants. Lackluster parking mode isn't bad, it just lacks one or more of the features of Excellent parking mode. Fair build quality, minor bugs/errors to be expected - keep up with firmware updates expected. - Chinese made - Viofo/Blueskysea/Mini/Ect

  • Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Good/Fair video quality dash cams: These are built for veteran dash cam buyers wants. Excellent build quality, few if any flaws/bugs, maintenance is largely optional, and more functional bells and whistles. Excellent parking mode: Automatic Engage/Disengage; Buffered - able to record a few seconds before and after G sensor and/or Motion sensor activation (like a time machine;) Built in (or Recommended hardwire kit) Low voltage cut off feature (Adjustable) Voltage/Time based. Good/Fair video quality is far from Excellent, you should check it. Good video quality does exist in this dash cam type. Excellent video quality does exist in this dash cam type (expensive though.) - Korean made - BlackSys/BlackVue/Thinkware.

Both types can be good dash cams, depending upon what you want them to do.

    Budget Dual Cams:

  • Mini 0906 ($130 USD) - I would avoid this dash cam. ??? I have no idea GPS

  • A129 ($160 USD) - Good video quality, Fair build quality, Lackluster parking mode: Automatic, Not buffered, Requires hardwire kit with low voltage cut off feature to enable parking mode. Has wifi/cellphone app. - This is a 2 Channel (Front/Rear) or (Front/interior) dashcam similar to the A119 variants. It is new, and people like it. Lacks Cloud feature. - Has GPS

    Last year's Flagship Dual Cams:

  • BlackSys CH-100B 2CH ($200-270 USD) - Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Good/Fair video quality. Has wifi/cellphone app. Good/Fair video quality is a far step down from Excellent A119 v2 video quality, you should compare sample footage. This dash cam's strong point is it is simply a good dash cam, user friendly wifi/cellphone app. Lacks Cloud feature. Has partitioned normal/Parking recording. - Has GPS

  • BlackVue DR650S 2CH ($298-370 USD) - Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Good/Fair video quality. Has wifi/cellphone app. People complain about this dash cam's video quality. It is similar to the CH-100B 2CH but for some reason people have higher than average expectations for video quality from this one. First of the Cloud feature dash cams. Lacks partitioned normal/Parking recording. - Has GPS

  • Thinkware F770 2CH ($330-390 USD) - Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Good video quality. Has wifi/cellphone app. Lacks Cloud feature. Has partitioned normal/Parking recording. This dashcam has improved video quality over the CH-100B 2CH/BlackVue DR650S 2CH, and it shows. - Has GPS

    This year's Flagship Dual Cams:

  • BlackSys Ch-200 2CH ($300-320 USD) - Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Good video quality. Has wifi/cellphone app. Lacks Cloud feature. Has partitioned normal/Parking recording. - Similar to the BlackSys CH-100B 2CH, with improved video quality. - Has GPS

  • BlackVue DR750S 2CH ($380-510 USD) - Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Good video quality. Has wifi/cellphone app. Has Cloud feature. Has partitioned normal/Parking recording. - Improved video quality over the BlackVue DR650S 2CH, added partitioned normal/parking recording. - Has GPS

  • Street Guardian SG9663DC (Includes memory card and CPL filter) ($290-490 USD) - Similar to the A129 2CH dash cam, missing wifi/cellphone app. - Has GPS

  • BlackVue DR900S 2CH (4K) ($480-591 USD) - Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Excellent video quality. Has wifi/cellphone app. Has Cloud feature. Has partitioned normal/Parking recording. - One of the few dash cams that is similar/surpasses the A119 v2. - Has GPS

  • Thinkware F800 2CH ($380-430 USD) - Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Good video quality. Has wifi/cellphone app. Has Cloud feature. Has partitioned normal/Parking recording. - The first of the Thinkware Cloud dash cams. - Has GPS

  • Thinkware F800 Pro 2CH ($380-460 USD) - Excellent build quality, Excellent parking mode, Good video quality. Has wifi/cellphone app. Has Cloud feature. Has partitioned normal/Parking recording. - The 2nd of the Thinkware Cloud dash cams. - Has GPS

    ---

Just to complicate things a bit more: BlackVue 1CH dash cams can not be upgraded to 2 CH. They will lack the rear camera port, as the 1CH dash cams are physically different than the 2CH versions.

Thinkware dash cams which have 1CH/2CH versions can be upgraded from 1 CH -> 2CH.

  • Thinkware FA200 IRC 2CH ($240 USD) - Includes Dashcam/IR cam + Micro SD card + Hardwire kit.

  • Thinkware FA200 WiFi ($130-190 USD) - Lacks IR cam, has Micro SD card option, Hardwire kit option.

  • BlackVue DR590W-2CH WiFi ($240-260 USD)

  • BlackVue DR590W-2CH IR WiFi ($280-300 USD)

    ---

What I would focus on is: A129 2CH, BlackSys CH-100B 2CH, BlackSys CH-200 2CH. - If you just want a standard dashcam 2CH. or BlackVue DR590W 2CH, or Thinkware FA200 Wifi 2CH. - I would also look at other BlackSys/BlackVue/Thinkware 2CH dash cams - I don't always update their newer/budget models. - All of these dash cams have wifi/cellphone apps.

If you want Cloud feature: BlackVue DR750S 2CH. I would also look at Thinkware F800 2CH or Thinkware F800 Pro 2CH, however, Thinkware is said to be behind in Firmware/Settings/Cloud feature/Wifi/cellphone app. - These have wifi/cellphone app as well. I would look at, but heat warning - BlackVue DR900S 2CH - This dash cam is part of the 4k lineup, and has unspecified heat problems for some reason.

So it really depends how much you want to spend.

Cloud feature is really cool, and sounds like it would meet your purpose.

I would also look at hardwiring as an option.

Also Micro SD cards - MLC based High Endurance brands.

I would also look at a heat rated external battery pack which will double the price most likely.
