Bring her in. She only stands a 3%-5% chance of survival out there. A takeout food container or Tupperware with a clear lid will work. Line the bottom with a paper towel. Get a small tender milkweed leaf (the one she is chomping is fine) and wrap the bottom in a slightly dampened piece of paper towel and put in there so she can chomp away. Open the container twice a day to let air in, but watch carefully, they’re escape artists!
After she is a little bigger you can set her up in a little butterfly enclosure. Be on the lookout for more eggs on the milkweed. They’re often underneath the leaves, and many prefer to lay on the smaller, younger leaves, too.
Good luck! Also, there’s an info heavy Facebook group that’s great for research called The Beautiful Monarch. It got me through my first two batches with ease!
Edit to add: make sure to wash hands before and after handling. They’re sensitive to lotion/flea products on pets we may pet, etc. etc. etc. And after you handle milkweed, do not touch anything. If that sap gets in your eyes you can do major damage. Wash your hands after handling milkweed, always.
First, that you for even considering helping the monarchs! You’re doing a great thing. The milkweed I keep outside I cut down to the ground once winter sets in and they start over when it’s warm enough. I like to keep a bunch inside under grow lights when winter hits as well. If yours are in small pots I recommend indoors for the winter and if you have a sunlight lamp or greenhouse lights that would be best for them.
I highly recommend this (RESTCLOUD 36" Large Monarch Butterfly Habitat, Giant Collapsible Insect Mesh Cage Terrarium Pop-up 24 x 24 x 36 Inches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CWRV1CZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_W8ku7QacNsYvu ) enclosure so you can bring your caterpillars indoors on the potted plants.
Don’t be discouraged if you lose a few. You live and learn. Please reach out to me with questions.
Yes, I have three fine mesh habitats for the caterpillars I collect from my yard milkweed plants. I keep the habitats on my semi enclosed front porch with potted milkweed. Most of the time the cats crawl to the top to form their chrysalis, but sometimes the form in odd or unsafe locations and I take them and hang them with clips or thread. The fine mesh helps keeps out flying insect predators. This dude formed his chrysalis under a leaf that was then eaten by other caterpillars so I had to cut the leaf off the plant and hang him up. I have these habitats in white, but in the future I will be getting the black mesh as they are easier to see through than the white.
I’ve raised a bunch of these dudes - one of these is the best home for them: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074711CJ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_DZWBDbH76EMTT
Just make sure he gets fresh leaves every day and clean out the poop so he doesn’t get sick. Keep some sticks in there with him, too - he’ll want them when it’s time to spin a cocoon (which could be soon - he’s huge!) if you see him starting to spin silk, don’t worry about any of this, lol, just let him do his thing
Got the Butterfly Habitat from Amazon. My husband is happy for the containment since we only have a balcony and live in a downtown area.

Ladybugs came from Armstrong nursery/ garden center. There are 1500 in a container and I didn't put all of them in the cage. I also gave some ladybugs to friends and neighbors.
It's only been 24 hrs but i do see a difference on my mint plant.
