For outers I don't think I will ever turn away from these 4mil polyethylene from Square Deal Recordings. The only issue is if you are into having the sealable flap thing, but I prefer this open style.

For inners I haven't been using these for as long, but I'm pretty happy with these rounded ones from Taguchi. They seem to be doing a good job at holding off static (my main concern), and so far they seem sturdy enough despite being really thin. They are definitely not for everyone, but with the rounded edge and the thinness of them, they slide easily into my existing sleeves. Only issue is that they still stick out maybe a centimeter past the paper sleeve, but honestly, I don't mind it at all. Mofi type sleeves look nicer, but these are way cheaper and are doing the job, so I'm happy.

I really like these. They are thicker than anyting I've seen at record stores and they don't go way past the record like some of the cheap ones. They also fit single record and gatefold jackets as well. Now tell us the record.

FWIW I recently switched to 4mil sleeves and have loved the extra thickness. The problem I was having with standard 3mil sleeves was the top edges getting all flippy-floppy after a lot of use making it more difficult to get double albums or other thick albums back into them. The extra stiffness of the 4mil sleeves solved the problem.

I use these sleeves: (100) 12" Record Outer Sleeves - PREMIUM - 4mil Thick

Looks like they are out of stock but you can order from their website directly too. 4 mil thick, and fits double LP albums

I've been going through my collection and adding outer sleeves, along with removing the records and placing them outside the jacket/gate fold, inside the sleeve—but I've come across numerous records with thick gate folds that won't fit in the standard outer sleeve (like this one).

Can anyone recommend an outer sleeve that would have enough room for these thick gate folds?

I like the thick 4 mil, personally. This is what I buy.

Thanks for the info. I looked on Amazon and I think I might invest in some of these to replace what I have now:

Thoughts?

Nice! Now get yourself some of these bad boys to keep your LP jackets looking crispy!! You can go thinner, but I like these 4 mils
