I hesitantly recomend Jordan Peterson to anyone, but his psychology is very sound in self help. He's shit a politics, so dont fall into the rabbit hole of those beliefs. Anyways his self help book has helped many many peoples. 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos https://www.amazon.com/dp/0141988517/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.jpEDb78ZTXMS

Read/listen to this book. If you take it serious and give it a chance, it will change your life. Peterson helped me turn my situation around... I was depressed, drinking and smoking too much. Working a job i didnt like but was too complacent to leave. Now I'm in my second year of law school, no longer rely on drugs/alcohol, and am 25lbs lighter.
You can be so much more than you are.
12 Rules For Life by Jordan B. Peterson
Jordan's a clinical psychologist, if I'm not wrong. I have listened to quite a few of his lectures and discussions and think he's very helpful. I do have this book but haven't read it yet.
>If it is based on science, that'd be nice.
There's a lot of biblical and scientific references, however odd that may be.
