My protector is PET film, I have no experience with it either, but here's the link if you want to look into it:

I personally use the matte one and it looks lovely. Has a smooth not sticky touch that protectors and screens generally have. Attracts finger grease ezpz though, just a simple wipe and it's OK.

I got one since I bought the N5. I had the original screen plastic layer for like 3 days until my screen protector arrived. No one can notice the screen protector that is on.

Just take your time to put it and you won't even notice it. It's better to be safe than sorry. I'm still on the first one too.
