I bought these last week and they work great with my Pixel3.
They say "slow charging" when I use them from a computer with underpowered USB ports, but they charge normally (very quickly) when I plug these cables into a charger that supports the full 3.1 amps.
I really can't ask for more than that in a cable...
Edit- Although I have had to unplug and replug them a couple times to get the pixel to begin to charge. Perhaps that's all you need to do with your current cables?
