These bad boys are pretty handy

A 6-pack for $40 goes well beyond "a bit more expensive" territory. Especially for a product that seems so basic.

Any particular reason to buy these over, say:

40 metal collar stays + 2 35 neodymium magnets = ~$32 ?

Seems like gratuitous spending.

Plus you still need to store the magnetic versions somewhere -- might as well just use a magnet separately.

Unless sticking to fridges is your go-to party trick or something.

i got some stainless steel ones on amazon, they seem to be holding up well over the past few years. And i got like 20 pair for under 10$. i dont see these things ever going bad unless you misplace them. I even added some strong earth magnets (little ones) to the underside of my collar to keep them in place, but a couple of the magnets have since cracked, so not so BIFL

I would either wear a button down shirt or use collar stays.

I bought these which I love. You can buy the magnets seperate on Amazon and have 40 stays in 4 different sizes for less than the price of a single pair of Wurkin Stiffs.

You might want to check Amazon. $40 for 6 stays and 6 magnets is extremely expensive.

24 magnetic stays - $3. 30 magnets - $7.

Basically, this means that for 75% less you get 400% more from Amazon.

I travel a lot for work and this is why I always request two room keys and you should too. It's pretty easy to make a crude pair of collar stays out of a hotel key. I wouldn't cut up something valuable to you (like a credit card).

I had to do this a time or two when the plastic stays in my shirts would get warped, but you can buy metal collar stays from Amazon for a few bucks. I bought a set for home and another that stays in my dopp kit.

Snag some scissors from the front desk and it can be done in a few minutes.

But don't be a cheap ass and try to make a bunch of your own. Just buy some metal stays and forget about it.

FWIW: Here's the set I have. The bag is kind of shitty, but I just tossed it.
