That's a shitty deal. A 7th gen CPU and 8gb of ram for 545??
Either build and get a r5 or i5 or get this - https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Desktop-i5-7400-Windows-TC-780-ACKI5/dp/B073YHNPC6/ref=sr_1_acs_bss_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1536189897&sr=1-1-acs&keywords=computer
It has 12gb of ram and a 2tb hdd
Acer Aspire.
I think I did alright trying to minimize costs for a good rocket league machine:
i5
12GB ddr4
Gtx1050ti sc
SSD
Can max out rocket league settings, but I would probably struggle with newer games.
I bought a pretty cheap prebuilt PC and added the GPU and SSD. I ended up spending around $600, not including peripherals.
Edit: the downside to this is I can’t really expand this PC anymore. Motherboard is full and the Power supply is maxed. All I can really do now is add RAM
Would that work with my prebuilt Acer Aspire? I'm just not sure about the PSU and the size of the GPU for the case. I've got this exact model here.

I hope it's nothing serious! 🙁
On a tech note: I bought my pc on Amazon through monthly payments. Don't know if that option is still available but might be worth a look! I understand, I wouldn’t want to spend this much money to have a possibility it wouldn’t work!
This is a bit more toward the top of your budget but it will do exactly what you need it for. The 2TB hard drive will be more than enough storage for storing documents/files.

This would be a good option for a prebuilt
That HP wouldn't perform the greatest doing video editing

These three are solid deals and newer generation Intel processors.

Better than the archaic AMD ones at the same price. I don't know why none of AMD's new ryzen lines are showing up anywhere though. A tower with the new ryzen 2200g/2400g would be a great all around desktop even doing mild gaming.
I built one just cause but be warned the older boards may not have the newer bios for AMD's new APU's

This or this? Id probably pick a lower end computer to reduce power consumption costs.
Problem with super-cheap builds is that they never include Windows. So, your 400$ build is actually a 500$ now. For such a price, I would recommend a pre-built. Here, a 500$ that includes windows, basically like a regular 400 build.
It has enough power for light-weight gaming and it's a really good normal-use computer, having an I5 and 12gb of ram.

yeah that doesn't look like $1000 to me
