Step one:
Find a PDP Wired Legacy Adapter for a reasonable price and buy it. You cannot use eKits on the XB1 without it and it's a fairly scarce item. It's a very sobering state of affairs.

Since you're still in the early stages of drumming, the Alesis Nitro kit for
$300$254 is a nice starting point.HOWEVER
If you can spring 200 more, absolutely for SURE get the new Alesis Surge kit, which is mesh drum heads instead of rubber. Feels more like the real thing, more responsive, and waay quieter.

I've been running with the Surge Mesh-

and a Pearl Demonator-

I don't know what your budget is but I would definitely recommend the Surge over the Nitro, all the parts are better quality and over the life of the instrument the increased cost is insignificant. The Nitro kick tower is a bit smaller than the mesh, not sure if it will accommodate double beaters. What were you thinking in your research thus far?
