> Is it more cost effective than a 50 ft Ethernet cable and a roll of scotch tape?
If money is tight an Ethernet cable is cheaper than buying a wireless adapter. 50' is pretty long, so it won't be super cheap, but they're about $6 on Monoprice, which is about as cheap as I'd recommend. But Monoprice charges a lot for shipping depending on your location, so still shop around.
Other options:
I prefer cables FWIW, plug it in and it works 99.9999% of the time. But if the cable will be running in a tripping location, you can consider a used wireless adapter.

According to my digging, this AmazonBasics adapter uses the MT7601U chipset; it's cheap enough to see if it works.
Okay I made a few changes and the miner has been stable since 20 hours or so:
Hopefully this helps others as well.
Wow I had no idea WiFi adapters were that cheap. So the desktop I have is the dell optiplex 755 and if I get something like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XSFPDFX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_t2XPAbHG9QZSQ
I will have WiFi?
What does it say at the top of your price list? It says ###W. That's the watts. Add 150 to it, and you should get the result. If you have 350W for example, get a 500W psu. You are using a stock cooler, so no thermal paste needed, it comes pre-applied. Just don't touch the bottom of the cooler when you unbox it, and you should be fine. For the fans, it is optional, if you want them so bad, you can buy them. For me I just buy RGB fans just to make it look EVEN MORE RGB than it already is. But for your budget, the case has one fan preinstalled at the back as an exhaust, so no, no fans needed. Can't say anything about the windows 10 installation. Great specs for the budget, it's nice. For the wifi adapter, it's good. You can get the PCI-E adapter, which you attach to the motherboard below your GPU into the PCI-E slot, or you can get a USB adapter for VERY cheap. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XSFPDFX/ref=asc_df_B06XSFPDFX5431487/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B06XSFPDFX&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198076677096&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7372422007870258085&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007781&hvtargid=pla-373873511931 Good luck! Seems like a solid build! :)
