I have had really good luck with this ultra-slim case that was an extremely tight fit when i snapped it on:

It protects just enough to where a typical fall will pop the protector off but keep your phone unharmed. I have not seen anything get inside the case when i do my weekly cleaning. The best part is most people don't realize I have a case on the phone, it is that thin!
