if buying new, buy a ryzen 3 2200g and a gtx 1050 (you want to check if the ti version of this card is in your budget) any 8 gb stick of ddr4 ram, a matx motherboard (something like this one https://www.amazon.com/Ryzen-Gaming-Motherboard-B450M-CSM/dp/B07FKV5HWJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1542351129&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=b450&dpPl=1&dpID=51xLs42VqaL&ref=plSrch), you need to buy an ssd 128 gb and 1 tb or 500 gb hard drive if you are playing osu! only. buy a 400w psu since the gtx 1050 is not a power hungry card and you will not need anything more than that (just make sure that it's from a reputable brand (energon is shit). this is around 450 dollars.

if buying used i would go for gtx 970 for around 100 dollars (this would be a very good deal, if you can't get this get a used gtx 960 for around the same price, it won't matter if you're only playing osu!, then buy a used prebuild dekstop with a i7 3770 or i5 4460 or something of those generations, check if the pc supports graphic cards (if it has pcie slot then it does), if you can get a used prebuild system with ryzen for cheap then that is even better, but i would spend around 200 dollars on a prebuild dektop with that processor. you will probably need to buy a power supply for that graphic card and do not cheap out here and just go for 50 dollars (new do not buy used psus) 500w psu. this should put you around 350 dollars, and if the prebuild system didn't have an ssd then buy it for around 30 dollars.

OK. Let's say you have an FX 8350. It's possible to get a decent upgrade with a Ryzen 5 2600 @ $118.00 + an ASUS PRIME B450A/CSM @ $79.00 for less than $200.00 but DDR3 will not work with that or any newer motherboard.

You might want to up your cap by another hundred for tax and memory.

I probably would recommend the Asus Prime B450M-A/CSM as it's the cheapest motherboard with out of the box support for the 2200g and 6 sata ports.

Price seems high for cpu / motherboard.

I’m from the U.K. but just quickly scanning amazon.com you could get a 2600 and b450 motherboard for around the same price. With this board you can OC and the 2600 is far far better than the 1200.

Lastly what psu are you using, like what brand is it?

I'm really unsure about my Mobo choice because I can't really differentiate the models so I would like to know which one is better between the:

Ok, so this PC build is a little over the $700, coming in about $800-ish after taxes. I did go with a Ryzen 7 due to the benefits of extra cores for graphic design and other workstation tasks that you may be doing in the future. This PC should run the vast majority of 1080p games at Maximum settings and can even handle moderate 1440p gaming. Every component is found on Amazon.

I also went with a more compact, grey design that really makes your build blend in with the desktop environment while still looking beautiful from the outside. The mATX form factor also means that your PC could fit into tight spaces.

Hope you enjoy this build.

That’s what we bought and he had a case already and I believe a 520Watt PSU

I also gave him my Asus RTX-2060 6gb. Any case or 2060 card will do the trick tho, that stuff is all about the same performance wise.

Works freaking great. I was very impressed with the performance. It ran almost as good as my 2060 did in my i5 9600k in games. I upgraded to a 2080 Super which is the only reason I gave up the 2060. And if I hadn’t got a 49 super ultra wide monitor I could have stuck with the 2060.

On a single screen it worked great

Nice. Yeah I have 2 Patriot Viper 8GBs

And is the B450 a big improvement over the B350?

Guessin this motherboard will work then? Or should I not mess around and go for this one?

u/Othon-Mann · 1 pointr/buildapc

That's actually amazing. I assume AM4 motherboards will support the upcoming new Ryzen CPUs too right? I didn't want want Ryzen initially because of single core performance but it looks like multi core wise it's as good as it's gonna get. I think I can even shave off a few dollars with the motherboard, this one for example, only $80 and I have Prime so I get free shipping.

I just ignore Mail in Rebate because i am from a different country and only use couriers to get what i buy from USA. I think i can't apply for that discount.

Okay, going off google I am assuming this is the motherboard he meant

Cheap: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FKV5HWJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6RUzCb0ZP1T8F

Slightly more expensive: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FWY246F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3SUzCb13WG59X

Expensive, but with wifi(smaller form factor though): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FKTSWNG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dVUzCb9TK7RXS

Gonna be honest I haven't used any of these boards, I just looked at boards that fit your build and found some cheap(ish) ones. I ordered the ATX version of the 3rd one recently but I can't vouch for it yet though. Imo you should be good with whatever as long as it fits, but I can't reccomend ASRock boards(personally I'm not a fan), although they might work for you if you want something super basic though.

You also might be able to find better prices on Newegg, idk though.

Why didn’t it light for the first few days I’ve had it? It just randomly starting lighting on its own?

u/phonedesk · 1 pointr/buildapc

Cool, thanks. I was looking at those Ryzens anyway. With that change, and the motherboard change to this ASUS B450, everything else would still work, yeah? I don't have too much experience with AMD builds.
