If you buy the parts individually, it costs $500. Not really a deal. Individual prices/links below
You could save even more by using G.SKILL Ripjaw Vs and choosing a cheaper B350 board or get an X370 board for the same price.

is this a good basic mobo for Ryzen 2600x?
I don't overclock
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B071SGQP1Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Take the ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING for example.
The Asus page says 2600 was "Validated since" BIOS version 1803. Does " Validated since PCB" mean it will boot?
The Newegg page doesn't say anything about "Zen+" or "2600."
The Amazon page doesn't either. There is a review that says Ryzen 2000-compatible boxes have a sticker on it, which you won't see until it's been shipped to you.
If there's a chance someone building a new system gets a motherboard that's not compatible with their CPU, that's an issue.
edit- Meant to say 2600, not 1600.
if you don't mind going up to 120 I'd say this is a solid mid teir mobo
The ASUS one (ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 USB 3.1 ATX B350 Motherboard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071SGQP1Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-2TRAbW786HPA) is a great purchase, their ROG products are great in my opinion. And yeah, that power supply is way overkill. I do have one, and it works really well, but for a budget PC, it doesn’t make much sense.
Ah I thought it took up a PCI-e slot so I was also looking into this card since it has 2. Didn't realize M2 had their own slot. The MSI Tomahawk does have better reviews overall though so maybe I should stick with that one?
My last card was a sapphire and I've been pretty happy with it, so I might go with your suggestion for the GPU.
Same price at Amazon? Obviously can't get the bundle discount.

And pc case that you like :)
Huge number of options here.
$104
$189 (fancier backplate, fancier lighting, etc)
$116 - middle of the road
$85 - budget, notice the PCIE slots are NOT reinforced with metal (so GPU may sag over time)
$99 - different aesthetic, MATX
$173 - yet another option
$117 - and another
Cheaper boards also give less flexibility/ability when overclocking a CPU. And generally may exhibit older display connectors, fewer ports, no wifi built in, fewer M.2 slots, lack of reinforced X16 slots, no debug Q code panel, cheaper quality capacitors and heatsinks, etc.
Interesting. So what If I went with b350? Like this: (Asus ROG STRIX- Amazon, CA)?
Am I just missing SLI Support?

Let's talk about the tweaks:
R5 1600 is the best bang-for-buck CPU for gaming right, and at 4K you probably wouldn't notice the difference between it and an old i5 to be honest. Your GPU is getting punched a ton harder in that workload.
CAS 14 RAM has a much better chance of hitting 3200MHz than the CAS16 stuff and worth the price bump.
You don't need a NVME SSD for gaming. Swapped to a SATA M.2 SSD and put the savings towards some mass storage.
Don't skimp on the PSU. CXM is a stellar budget option, but if you're willing to spend a bit more a EVGA G2 or Corsair TXM/RMx will last a decade.
Suggestion: Reach for the 1080Ti - 4K is hella demanding and without a GSync panel you'll want to hit your panel's refresh rate as much as possible to avoid tearing. Alternatively, look into a 4K Gsync panel (which would be a good investment).
Regarding the ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B071SGQP1Q/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1
In several of the reviews i've seen people complain that a large video card can cover the RGB's mounted east of the PCI area. But If i understand it correctly, both of the top two PCI's are capable of hosting the video card at the same speed.
Am I missing something?
Well I don't really know how you can sensibly use that whole budget. He's my recommendation for a bit less
Ryzan 7 1800X
Corsair H100i v2
Asus B350-F
Corsair 16GB 3200MHz RAM
So that is the high end Ryzen CPU. With that Mobo you can over clock and the liquid CPU cooler will keep it all cool. The ram is high clock so you get the best out of Ryzen.
As I've done some more research, it looks like I will have to upgrade my ram as well. Here's what I have found:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0134EW7G8/
And a motherboard:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071SGQP1Q/
any forseen compatibility issues?
This would probably fit your build pretty well. You could find cheaper but this gives you a great set of features for the price
I bought a phanteks p400 case, so I will have some rgb/window. Im currently looking at this mobo
Also now considering 3200mhz ram due to ryzen working better with faster ram speeds.
I've got a quick question. How can I get 2933 RAM speed off of this kit, with this CPU and this board. Is there a video that walks me through it? Likewise, would I need beyond a stock cooler or would keeping it at 2933 be ok with the stock cooler.
OC is easy, just get a nice board and the 1600, i would recommend a B350 Strix board or the prime you mentioned:
https://www.amazon.com/ROG-B350-F-GAMING-DisplayPort-Motherboard/dp/B071SGQP1Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1505485721&sr=8-1&keywords=b350+strix
I just built with this Mobo and right now it's half what I paid with a $40 rebate. Jump on it
These two then after some research however the MSI one having getting negative reviews on their newest bios for it puts me off a bit

I recommend an Asus B350f mobo. I have put a couple systems together with this mobo and have had fantastic luck with ram and cpu compatibility. https://www.amazon.com/ROG-B350-F-GAMING-DisplayPort-Motherboard/dp/B071SGQP1Q
Also, I would recommend getting Samsung B Die memory, it is more expensive but worth every penny if you're looking to squeeze every bit of performance out of your ryzen setup.

What kind of power supply are you running? It would probably be worth upgrading to a new one if your budget allows.
Should I start working on new computer architecture by buying this motherboard to get the ball rolling or should I upgrade my graphics card?
Currently FX 6300 / GTX 680. Currently waiting on a good price for an RX 580 8gb that will run quiet. In Canada, that is. The plan for moving onto the am4 platform is a 1400 or 2400g.
I want to pair this cpu with Asus ROG Strix B350-F mobo, but cant find anywhere if its "ryzen 2000 ready"/flashed for next gen.

Both of these boards are on sale and around you`re price point if you want a little RGB the more expensive on will do. It also has an Optical port for better sound quality if your headset supports it. The msi board is the better deal for the money if you care about none of the two points i made for the Asus board.
Well I’m not rich and I’m just looking to start out so I bought a cheap case and I was looking at this mother board
