I would recommend this over this asus because it comes with better CPU, better iGPU, and for slightly less.

Need more system info. With a quick google search, I can find configurations of this laptop with DDR4 memory rather than DDR3.

So first things first, you need to figure out what you have in the laptop. I would do this using CPU-Z (direct link).

A Laptop with an AMD APU would be a cheap option to run LOL at 60fps. For a little more you can find an i3 or i5. The integrated graphics on an i3 or i5 will play league just fine probably on medium.

The Dell Inspiron 15 i5559-4682SLV for $399 (will go on sale on 11/24) would be a decent choice. Especially since it comes with a 1080p display.

If you don't want to spend that much:

This: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LX0KIGB/ref=twister_B01M3TYFDD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 (ignore the newer model thing, the i3-6100U is definitely the newer one).

It has the Intel HD 520 graphics, which runs older games pretty well, but only with dual channel memory, you'd have to put another 4GB RAM in it. It also has a FullHD screen, yes you do want that!

I always bring my laptop but my professors do not allow electronic devices in class. Currently 4th year student and I’ve been using this laptop for all my assignments:

Would probably be cheapest to go with a laptop in this case to avoid buying all the peripherals (monitor, speakers, keyboard).

Here's two for you to look at. (amazon is probably not the cheapest place to buy them)

For a windows laptop that isn't expensive I would go with Asus

Yeah I was originally looking at that one (pretty sure its the suggested laptop in both this sub and /r/laptops for that price range) but the weight, build quality, and mixed reviews I have seen has me somewhat wary about it. I also saw this when doing research which caught my eye. Not sure how it differs aside from form factor and fewer USB ports.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I like the Acer, however the first 2 laptops I had were Acer and both were complete lemons. One lasted for 3 months before the motherboard died, Acer refunded me the money and I bought the newer model, it arrived with a damaged panel, sent it back, and the new one only lasted about 5 months before it also died. I also found this Asus, anyone know anything about it?

I was also thinking about this Yoga 3 Pro, one of my former co-workers let me know about an open-box one at MicroCenter:
