A monitor might be as cheap as renting a laptop. You can buy a brand new one on amazon for $80. Used should be cheaper, like on craigslist for $10 or for $20.

I can help you! brb -

I found out you could take out the grass and everything, https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=446510512 ,

  1. Go to the folder with the game:

    D: \ The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt \ bin \ shaders \ speedtree \ shaders_directx11

  2. Remove:

    Leaves_vs.fx11obj

    Leaves_shadowcast_vs.fx11obj

    Leaves_shadowcast_ps.fx11obj

    Leaves_ps.fx11obj

    Grass_vs.fx11obj

    Grass_shadowcast_vs.fx11obj

    Grass_shadowcast_ps.fx11obj

    So you're going to want to play at 720p and I'll help you with the rest! :)

    ASUS VS197 is your new best friend,

    Following that guide will give u a ridiculous FPS boost, removing the grass and foliage. It's unsightly anyway, the game looks surprisingly good if you take out the plug in grass.

    Low Spec Gamer is your friend,

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrJ330NGjCU

    Watch that. You need to set the game to 30fps and vsync.

    You'll need to go into the configs and lower the cascading shadows to .5, that will help. Let me see here..

    Your CPU is going to set you back.

    C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\The Witcher 3 and backup user.settings. (change to .5)

    Shadow Quality Tweaks

    As mentioned earlier, Shadow Quality modifies a ton of values, but its in-game maximums are limited. Via the config file, we can take full control of these many values and crank them way up, far beyond their 'Ultra' levels. Alternatively, one could edit them to retain 'Ultra' shadows, but with a reduced Foliage Shadow value to improve performance, for example.

    Here's an overview of Shadow Quality's settings and how you can manipulate them for improved shadow fidelity:

    [Rendering]

    CascadeShadowFadeTreshold= [Ultra Value: 1] - (.5)Decrease the value to improve the maximum view distance of shadows

    CascadeShadowDistanceScale0= [Ultra Value: 1] - (.5) Increase the value to improve the quality of close-range shadows

    CascadeShadowDistanceScale1= [Ultra Value: 1] - (.5) Increase the value to improve the quality and visibility of close and medium-range shadows

    CascadeShadowDistanceScale2= [Ultra Value: 1.5] - (.5)Increase the value to improve the quality and visibility of distant shadows

    MaxTerrainShadowAtlasCount= [Ultra Value: 4] -(1) Increase the value to potentially improve the quality of terrain shadows

    CascadeShadowmapSize= [Ultra Value: 3072] - (512) Increase the value to slightly improve the fidelity of shadows

    CascadeShadowQuality= [Ultra Value: 1] - Increase the value to slightly improve the fidelity of shadows

    Foliage shadows are linked to the in-game Foliage Visibility Range setting, but can be independently modified in the config file for greater control of fidelity and performance.

    [Rendering]

    TextureStreamingCharacterDistanceLimit= [Default Value: 50] (25)

    TextureStreamingHeadsDistanceLimit= [Default Value: 10] (5)

    TextureStreamingDistanceLimit= [Default Value: 40000] (500)

    Best I can do! Have fun, good luck! It's optimized but it's render stuff on the other side of the planet.

    IT's hard to go below 720p because of the compression, try 640!
