Get a privacy screen for your monitor. It obscures the view from any angle except straight on.

Also, once you have 18 months in on the job, start looking for another. Better title, better pay.

Spending your days doing nothing is hurting you as much as it's hurting your employer, because you're not gaining any real skills or expanding your knowledge.
