The Meaning of Night by Michael Cox.

Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie.

That's a tricky one. Seems the majority of fantasy books with a female protagonist fall into either the ya or smut category

I would suggest:
Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie

These are technically ya but I wouldn't say the relationships are stereotypical of ya
Graceling by Kristin Cashore

The Blue Sword and The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley

If you don't mind smutty then my goto in Kresley Cole and her immortals after dark series. Always a nice light paranormal romance. Not every book is a hit in my opinion but there's some gems. Plus it's fine to read then out of order/skip some.

Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie was my favorite of his books set in that world, and it can be read as a stand-alone.

I think you might like "Best Served Cold" by Joe Abercrombie.

It's set in a world setup in a previous series, but will work by itself.

Murcatto is tough as nails and out for revenge against those who betrayed her. That might seem like a typical fantasy story, but the world Abercrombie paints is so vibrant, so full of character that it breathes - and it's easy to get sucked in. Much like the ASOIAF, the characters are flushed out, the morality of things they do is far from clear cut, and you begin to love them despite their flaws.

Give it a try.

Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence. "Medievalesque" fantasy set in a far future. Main character Jorg is a right bastard, but he grows on you.

Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie, . Grimdark fantasy, short on magic and long on swords. Abercrombie is great at characters and action scenes. There are several books set in this world; I think this standalone is the best introduction.
