I have this in my car and I love it. I can clip it anywhere, and move the neck to the perfect position for my phone. I am sure that this would be perfect for what you are trying to do. You can clip it to your desk, and put it exactly where you want it.
I've got one of these for my cellphone Netflix binges. My cable company also offers live tv streaming over smart devices, so I literally don't ever need a tv.
