I have not found a bad one yet, but I did a fair bit of research on the matter before buying them.
For S-Video/Composite I picked up a couple of these.

For Component I picked up two of these mostly due to optical audio support, but later stopped using optical since I didn't have any PS2/Xbox games that really benefited from it. Made cable management a bit easier too.

I use this for connecting my NES/SNES/Dreamcast/Gamecube/PS2/Genesis to the TV. It saves so much clutter and I can flow and strap all the cables to one area. The TV doesn't have enough plugs for all of them anyway, so a switch is a must.
