Yeah, you have to download the app. Sorry! :(

EDIT: To answer your question, I'm mildly extremely inebriated, but I'm using a Black Magic Intensity Pro for capturing the game content. Xsplit is currently a free program (in beta!) that will stream straight to twitch.tv. Hope that answers your question! If not, I'll answer when I'm sober. In the morning. Hopefully.

EDIT AGAIN: This was essentially what got me to stream: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=309480 He pretty much lays out all the choices and alternatives for individuals that want to stream console games.

[Black Magic Intensity Pro] (http://www.amazon.com/Blackmagic-Design-Intensity-Pro-Editing/dp/B001CN9GEA) is another good high end PCI capture card. However most gamers now days use AverMedia. And as MRBifuteki said it all depends on your PC. If you have a PCI-E slot available in you PC you can use a PCI capture card for best quality otherwise you need an external capture card which will be slightly less capture quality. A good external one i have seen used a bunch is the [Hauppauge HD PVR 2] (http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-Gaming-Definition-Capture-Passthrough/dp/B008ZT8QKO/ref=lp_284824_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1396080981&sr=1-4)

Do not use that capture device. It's only standard def and will look utter shit or won't run.

For capture devices there's a few options out there some more expensive than others. RT use Black Magic's Intensity Pro which is an actual capture CARD that fits into your PC, it's rather pricey and records uncompressed footage so it's better for advanced users.

I suggest looking at the Hauppauge range of capture devices such as the HD PVR, HD PVR 2 etc. I have the first HD PVR model which is component only but it's worked for me fine for years though to future proof I suggest getting the PVR 2 since it supports HDMI.

Editing software; either Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas on PC and Final Cut Pro 7 on a Mac but seeing as you're on a PC the former applies to you.
Very expensive but there are "ways" to acquire them for "free" if you get my drift...not that I condone such actions ;)

Mic-wise; I use a Samson C01U USB condenser mic but I've heard many good things about the snowball mic. I suggest, though not very necessary to get a pop filter also to stop all the popping sounds or the audio clipping if you accidentally blow into the mic.

Watch a TON of YouTube videos about editing; it's can be a hell of a lot harder than it looks but once you learn your away around the software of your choice; you'll get faster and better each time, the more effort you put in; the better quality your work will be.

This should be said; all the hardware and software in the world can't change a bad commentator; be confident when performing voice over; get used to your own voice, you'll be hearing it a lot and make sure you always have a topic at hand to talk about dead air is the worst and keep all the "erm"s to a minimum!

Hope this helps.

Well, if money isn't really an issue, here is a fairly premium build. I went with a bit more power than your average media server because it sounds like this is being used to do some editing, displaying as well as simple serving (correct me if I'm wrong).

I also used a more premium case and a modular PSU.

I should mention if you surf for some combo deals and get a cheaper case and PSU you can cut down the price quite a bit.

Also, I didn't include an optical drive.

the ADVC-110 blows on OSX, as it conks out randomly, but works great on Windows... I have since upgraded to a Blackmagic Intensity Pro and couldn't be happier: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CN9GEA/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001CN9GEA&linkCode=as2&tag=hrtl-20&linkId=6TT5H2EYPP5ZHKBU

I use a Roxio Game Capture that I got for $80CDN, but Amazon has for much cheaper, but apparently it only captures at 480p.

This model is component video only, but they have a more expensive model that does HDMI model as well.

It works well enough; does pass through video to your TV so you can play while capturing to your computer. Since the hardware does all the compression with the video, even a laptop with a modest C2D processor is able to handle it.

Here's a Roxio propaganda site and here's a video review I came across that seemed pretty fair to me.

The problem is they're all going to be compressed somewhat by the external device. If you want super-sharp grabs, you're going to need something better that doesn't do compression on its own, such as a frame buffer grabber like the Black Magic Intensity. Happily, they have come down in price quite a bit.

Hope that helps.

Went a little over budget, but I wasn't sure what quality sound card you needed so I popped in a pretty decent one there, as well upgraded your video input device to the BMI Pro, which I guarantee you you'll love :)

Your video comes from the 2500K's Intel 3000 graphics, you can shave $40 by going with a MSI Z68A-G43 (B3) only SATAII but if you think you can manage with that then save the dough.

Case is a piece of shit I picked for budget, but it did seem to have okay cable management. Not sure if you needed the OS, but you can save an additional $100 there if you needed it.

Hope this helps put you on the path to picking the right parts.

is this the capturecard you're referring too? I thought about getting a Black Magic Intensity Originally because you could insert it into your motherboard (but it only records console gameplay) I like the Extreme cap u3 because you can record console and pc gameplay (plus its about the size of an iPhone) its a really small and compact capture card.

The biggest issue you will have is video latency/delay. The Elgato Game Capture HD60 will have a few seconds of delay on both the video and audio before it's sown in your streaming software.

If you want to control the audio from the PS4 and Xbox One with the mixer, you will need to get something to delay the audio to match it up or else the audio will be played in real time and the video show up later on the stream.

You will need some expensive equipment to delay the audio in real time (it can be done easily in software but you need either another computer to do it or bypass the mixer completely). Considering the audio will be most likely stereo, you will need two audio delay boxes. The only one I can think of on top of my head that's not "too expensive" is the Behringer Shark FBQ100 but you will need two. They can delay the audio to up to 2.5 seconds (WHICH MAY NOT BE ENOUGH FOR THE ELGATO!)

How do you exactly get the audio from the Xbox and PS4? With a digital to analog converter. Use the optical out on the consoles and RCA to jacks from it and into the mixer.

You ask what headset you should buy. If you plan on using the mixer with a gaming headset you have to look elsewhere because that will not work. You can use a gaming headset with audio only via the headphone out on the mixer with but you need a proper microphone to use with the mixer.

Is this all worth doing with your current setup? Absolutely not. The first thing you need to do is replace your capture card with something that's low latency.

The best capture card you can get for this today is the Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI. It's a tad expensive but worth every penny. A step down would be the Black Magic Intensity Pro (which I currently use and own with audio going into my Behringer 802USB mixer). The other "gaming" capture card brands has some low latency cards as well but I would not recommend them.

Once you have a low latency capture card you can start plugging your consoles audio into it.

Would it better for you to pipe the output to a separate capture device? Something like https://www.amazon.com/Blackmagic-Design-Intensity-Pro-Editing/dp/B001CN9GEA

Or could go for a higher spec card. Running a 1080 here and can encode using Shadow Play without issues

I am going to take a chance on the BlackMagic Intensity Pro within the next few months once I have enough money to purchase everything I want for my setup.

I will say I have seen reviews that seem to show it can be a hit & miss based on your computer and the unlikely but still probably chance you get a bad card. While this almost prevented me from considering it, the amount of positive reviews are good and I think the fact (From what I know of) that it has no delay and also supports basic analog with its own breakout cable makes it seem very worthy of at least a chance.

I plan on purchasing it from Amazon at here: http://www.amazon.com/Blackmagic-Design-Intensity-Pro-Editing/dp/B001CN9GEA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_pc_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=0YFS9DWQGX6GT9TJ26M7

The breakout cable diagram from their site: https://images.blackmagicdesign.com/media/138863/intensitypro.png

For Yellow Composite (Lowest Quality) you just connect it to green.

For S-Video, you also get an adapter to green and blue.

All of this is to the best of my knowledge and I hope that ASAP I get a chance to check it out myself. Hopefully though some of what I know helps you out.

Good luck and tell me if you do end up getting a card how well(Or bad) it works!
