May I recommend the Blue Ant Pump I've been using these for about 6 months. I love them mostly because I had the same problem, all the head phones I tried would not stay in my ears. I also like them because I can control my music right in the head phones (at least for Android).

I just bought the BlueAnt Pump sportbuds for a Christmas gift for myself and I love them. They're on sale on Amazon for $30 since it's an older model, but the newer model is supposed to have an improved sound. I still think it sounds fine, but if you want to invest in a good set, the new model seems pretty good. They're sweatproof, multiple sizes of the ear buds, and this random thing that is supposed to help them stay in place for high-impact activities like running. I had them in for over an hour, and no discomfort at all. And they really stay in, so I didn't have to adjust them like crazy, and no connection problems either.

Couldn't you just find earbuds or headphones that accommodate listening to music in one ear? I have these and it's not a problem for me.

u/truthlesshunter · 3 pointsr/Fitness

I had the same problem...(mostly with running though also with lifting) and and even worse problem with sweat resistance (headphones wouldn't hold a charge for more than 30-60 minutes after a few months).

Blueant pump were the first ones the meet all my needs and work really well. The bass is decent, sound quality is really good for in-ear bluetooth...they WILL stay in your ear and they are the most sweat resistant ones I've had (i've had 5 pairs...you can even swim in these things):

Hands-down, the best headphones I have had for working out. I wear them in the shower after my workouts too! The only thing needed is to clean the silicone cups in rubbing alcohol when they start slipping off. I've had them for a year with the PHA plug of 2-3 times a week and they are still going strong. There are waterproofing ratings for earphones.

This is the highest I could find which are also bluetooth:

I own these and am quite pleased.

That being said, since they are battery powered bluetooth only, at some point that will lose it's charge, so it can't be purely BIFL.

These are the most hearind-arid-resembling headphones I've found. The white/green model seems to hide the pause/play/volume buttons pretty well, so they look less like headphones. However, take it with a grain of salt, because almost all hearing aids of this form factor seem to be flesh-coloured, which is a hard colour to find headphones in.

I have these:

They kick serious ass and have crazy noise cancelling. I can't even hear myself breathe and I can barely hear the fly wheel when I erg with these. It makes things easier when you can't hear your own suffering.

Not an audiophile or tech expert, but my wife and I have been on the hunt for the same thing. Came here to ask the same question as you and in the mean time, did some Amazon research. These are the ones I was showing her.

Couple of different bluetooth earbuds out there. $60-$200

PowerBeats 2
$200
Beats had a stigma of being form over function and you end up paying more for the name than the performance. With that being said the reviews are saying that is no longer the case and these apparently perform very well in the sound quality department. However, they are still $200.

Jaybirds BlueBuds X
$167
Some of the best reviewed and typically highly recommended wireless gym buds. Still a little pricey. Low profile.

ME Electronics X6.
$52
Sound quality seems OK at best and some complaints of construction quality. Stays in ear good. Uses memory type wire to wrap around ear. Not as low profile because of square sound drivers that hang on earbud. But at $52 it may be worth a shot especially if you end up not liking wireless anyway.

BlueAnt Pumps
$93
Waterproof so you can technically swim with them if you can get bluetooth to reach. Sound quality is OK, but less than the Jaybirds. Kind of bulky earwrap because most of the hardware is placed there it seems. Some quality concerns.

LG HBS-800
$70
Has a band that sits around your neck that houses the hardware. Could be a dealbreaker if you dont want this, Most reviews suggest to stay with the LG HBS-730. So see next option.

http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-Tone-Ultra-HBS-800/dp/B00FXBYHOG

LG HBS-730
$60
I'm thinking these are the best value for the money. Also has a neck band for the hardware. Apparently, some of the Amazon sales were of counterfeit sets. Hope its been resolved.

This is only what I've been able to derive from Amazon reviews. As I said, I'm no expert. Anyone feel free to chime in with some advice on these options and thank you.

I have Blueant Pumps that I have gone swimming with before. Fine for waterproof and they worked fine for me when I did a couple laps but be aware that bluetooth and water do not mix well.

The water interrupts the signal and it can skip or get choppy even if your phone is very close by.

I've had them for more than 2 years and they are still kicking, though the rubber shell has gotten loose on them so I wouldn't trust the waterproofing any more.

Very inexpensive (around 30 bucks) now that the new version is out. I paid 75 for mine on sale when they were normally 99

Waterproof and bluetooth. Sound great. Pretty inexpensive.

Walk Me Up - This alarm app won't turn off unless you get up and walk a predetermined number of steps. It's enough to get me out of bed and moving for a few moments.

Waterproof Bluetooth Headphones - I pop these in right away and get some music going. The alarm gets me out of bed, the headphones keep me awake.

I then move right into my morning workout. Simple bodyweight stuff, enough to get the blood pumping and work up a sweat. No equipment, no set-up, just right to it. Check out /r/bodyweightfitness for workout ideas.

Once I'm done, I can keep rocking out while I head into the shower, since the headphones are waterproof. I'll take my time, and shave and brush my teeth in the shower, so by the time I'm out, all I need to do is get dressed. Whole thing takes 30-45 minutes.

The best part is, it gets me up and keeps me up even when I'm waking early. Waking up early gets me tired earlier, which in turn makes it so much easier to get to bed (and to sleep) earlier. A couple weeks of this was all it took to shift my sleep habits from a die-hard night owl to someone who wakes up before 6:30AM even on weekends.

Blue ant pump They used to be like 150 dollars but since the gen 2 ones came out you can find them for 32 on amazon (like here https://www.amazon.com/BlueAnt-Pump-Wireless-Sportbuds-Black/dp/B00ISRUFXY/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469355811&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=blunt+pumpp)

I ended up buying a bunch .. they're great I love them

I've been using a pair of BlueAnt Pump bluetooth earbuds for the last couple of weeks. They're only about $33 on Amazon. So far, the fit seems very stable; they don't fall out of my ears while I'm running, and I haven't even messed with the included stabilizers. They have a pretty good range; the audio doesn't start cutting out till I'm about 25 feet from my phone (at least when the battery's fresh...) They're waterproof and supposed to have 8 hours of play time and 2 weeks of standby (assuming you remember to turn them off after your run -- otherwise it counts towards your 8 hours of playtime). I'm very impressed with them, particularly given the relatively low price :)
