I use Bossman Beard products.
It’s amazing! After the first use my beard is super soft and if you buy a beard brush (make sure it’s 100% boar’s hair) you can keep it soft and neat. I highly recommend it!
Trim off the patchy parts to get a clean line. A barber will help a ton with setting a good line that you can keep clean while shaving.
I'd highly recommend using some beard conditioning products. This is the stuff I use although you can probably get some advice from people who know more than me on /r/beards
Also get a beard comb! It will help a ton and help get even application with your beard products.
If you want to keep the moustache a little longer I whole heartedly support your decision, but you're really going to want to invest in some moustache wax to train it, keep it out of your mouth (and drinks), and keep in looking groomed. It makes a huge difference.
EDIT: A good beard trimmer is crucial as well. Facial hair is notorious for growing unevenly and being able to trim those ends that grow faster than others keeps things looking a lot cleaner.
