I lubed some bushings once and hurt my ankle badly, with a history of rolled ankles, and that thing was necessary to walk let alone skate for a while. That sort of injury is no joke.
I don't use it any more but I think you can start with it, tight, then progressively loosen and eventually wean off (proper skating is pretty good for ankle strength).
