You can get runs longer than 15 meters with some more specialized cables/repeaters. Prices right now are not terrible either.

For HDMI, a simple option would be an amplifier: Here is an example. Some out there have been verified to work well with the Rift at varying distances. (The one I linked has not, as far as I know. But if it can do 4K at 25 meters, I would imagine it would be fine).

VR-Related USB inputs, I would probably stick with long USB 3.0 extender cables. Like this, but find one with the appropriate length.

Non-VR related USB inputs and outputs are easy. Cat5e extenders work just fine. Example

EDIT: Noticed the USB 3 extender link is for 25 feet and not meters... just changed a few words.

I currently am able to extend my headset 15 ft using this, and this. 35-40 ft seems a bit difficult, though.

For the basic kid if you have 3 empty USB3s and one empty USB2, the basic kit will work. However if you want to expand to mroe sensors you should get yourself a PCIe expansion card for sure.

I would say you will most likely need extension cables but really only you can tell. Depends on where your computer is in relation to where you want to put sensors but typically you'll need extensions for at least the rear sensor. For the basic kit you'll want the sensors diagonally across your play space from each other for 360 degree tracking most likely.

This is what I use on the sensors

and this is what i use on the hMd

But if you start extending the HMD cable you'll also need a repeater

And then just a good quality longer HDMI cable (not an extension) like this

Seems to be pretty good. People also seemed to have success with using the Vive extension box (https://www.amazon.com/HTC-Vive-Link-Box-pc/dp/B01LXR6DKV/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=vive+box&qid=1550992342&s=gateway&sr=8-1)

I don’t know about that far. Maybe with active, it’s like 2am for me so I’ll take a better look at your-setup tomorrow and see if I have any suggestions. One question, do you use the oculus built in mic and audio?

Edit: oh looks like you have hdmi boosted from your cable description so you prob don’t need the HDMI repeater.

I’d be running three cameras, and want to have them plugged in for the 2 1/2 hour event so batteries don’t die. I’d also be running these because I need to hook multiple hdmi together.

It’s a weird set up but the only reliable one I’ve found
