In a cooler with ice, they will last about 5-7 days, the same as most other refrigerated foods. With no refrigeration, I would not let them go for more than a day before cooking.

The only reason eggs normally last so long without refrigeration is because they're sealed in the egg shell, keeping out all of the nasty bacteria and other organisms that make them go bad. Once you've cracked the egg, that barrier is gone, and the bacteria go to work on your food.

You might be interested in using an egg holder designed for camping. This will at least prevent them from getting crushed, and will work great for most trips where they won't be bashed around too much.

And yeah, dehydrated eggs aren't the best. They're kind of spongy and soggy after rehydration.

They'd spoil.

I do know that you you don't need to refrigerate eggs if you put vaseline on them, and these work pretty well for packing in eggs.

I have one of these. It is the best $5 I've ever spent. I also have the 12 egg holder to keep eggs from getting smashed in the cooler when car camping.

Honestly though, like this. Put in the top of my pack. They made it to the top of a mountain in Scotland where I camped.

If you don't trust the cardboard, you can find egg carriers for hiking in all sorts of capacities! Only problem is that they take up space after you've eaten the eggs, and can't be burned in your campfire like the cardboard.
