Ah! I see. Well, I mean it still could be the size. But I know we had a touch time at first until I tried a VERY slow flow nipple. We used the Kiinde system, but I have also heard good things about this one too.

I have one on Amazon and one at Target. Things that I really like from previous babies are;

  • Swaddle Pod My son did great with these, as he could still move his arms a bit, but not hit himself in the face. They do this so much when they are newborns. We then upgraded to the swaddle Me regular ones when he was a little bigger.

  • Muslin swaddle blankets The reason I like these is because they are SQUARE. So many stupid flannel recieving blankets are rectangular and that is just stupid. Plus these breathe really well.

  • Comotomo bottles My LLL Leader and other BFing friends said these have been given awards and lots of people found these bottles mimicked the breast better than many others. Give that my kids both hated Avent bottles, and I always had a hard time getting them to take bottles, I am going to give these a try if I need them.

  • Lansinoh GET THE BIGGEST SIZE YOU CAN FIND. This stuff is vital. I put this on my nipples after every time I nursed. Also on my lips and elbows because they were dry.

  • Nursing Pads I would get reusable ones, but also some disposable. Some of the reusable ones are thicker. I haven't used these ones per say, but they look nice. :)

  • Soothing nursing pads 'Nuff said.

    Also, not on my list is witch hazel spray/liquid/pads for your lady parts. Because they will make things SO MUCH BETTER. Also one of those squirty bottles to squirt on yourself when you pee. Because urine burns on swollen areas. I stole mine from the hospital. xD

My little guy is only 7 weeks old so take my advice with a grain of salt :) But I agree w the suggestions here to see an LC or do weighted feeds. When we struggled w/ weight gain, I rented a scale from my local breastfeeding center. We fed whenever he was hungry, and I'd weigh him before and after so I could know how much he was getting. If he wasn't getting 4-5oz per feed I'd pump post-feed and give him the bottle. Eventually, pumping after feeds increased my supply and I was able to solely bf.

I only had to pump after two feeds per day, give or take - I'd usually pump after a 6am feed and after a bedtime feed (9pm).

fwiw my doc said he needs to gain between a half an ounce - 1 oz per day, so 11oz in two weeks is really not bad.

Edit: also, my doc said that nipple confusion is overhyped. and my baby has never had a problem going between bottle and boob. We have these which I think are supposed to feel like boob https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009QXDE46/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_ttl?ie=UTF8&colid=1RUMYT7P1DA0B&coliid=I2WI6JQALN3YE3&vs=1

Make sure the nipples are not fast flows or your baby will probably gag.
Medium is good, but you should start with slow flows until your baby shows signs of frustration with the slowness.

This site has good tips: http://kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/feeding-tools/bottle-feeding/

We also use these bottles and they work great. Don't really need to burp much after:

The 5oz bottles come with slow flows
