Preface:

The little girl from Brave and I have a lot in common. Our hair is exactly the same. Tell me, how can you tame a lion?

I've struggled my entire life trying to come up with an answer. My hair reaches to the middle of my back and is very fine. Heat styling it is out of the question because it will fall out. This is a shame because if I wasn't a webcam model I would just put my hair back in a french braid and it would look fine. However, this is not an option either because my clients prefer it down.

So here's my solution. It will take about an hour.

First, let's talk about products. Normal shampoo does not work for me. It makes my hair knot and fall out. When that doesn't happen my hair will clump together and feel like dreadlocks. It also will not dry, even if I've spent an hour washing all of the shampoo out and am 100% certain there's nothing left. It's a disaster. I would be better off just washing my hair with water than using shampoo. However, cheap conditioner works fine.

The Products:

Redken Shampoo and Conditioner

3 Inch Hair Rollers

Sebastion Hairspray

Coconut Oil

Optional CHI Hair Protectant

Smooth Hair Instructions:

Put your hair up in rollers. Instead of getting it wet, use enough hairspray to make it feel wet to the touch and allow it to dry. This should only take about 5 minutes after the hair rollers are in completely. Maximum time: 30 minutes.

If you don't want to use that much hairspray, you can get your hair a little bit moist with a spray water bottle. Do this after your hair is up in rollers if you want it to look
okay*, but do it beforehand if you want it to look pristine. Maximum time: 1 Hour 30 Minutes.

Obviously I prefer the first method, but you can do whichever you like.

Afterwords smooth it out with oil and hair protectant. It will last for quite a while and should look great. However, the more hairspray you use the better it will last.

Washing Instructions:

At most I wash my hair once every two to three days. I was it at least once a week. It depends on the amount of time I have and how often I have been sweating. If it smells fine I don't really care. If I wash it too much it will start falling out, tangle, and just be a general pain to deal with.

Other Information:

I've used this method for about a year now and my hair if growing back. There were a couple spots that are finally looking a lot better. Any job I have ever had has saif my hait doesn't look 'professional' enough. It's kind of a bummer that no one likes my natural hair. I've evven missed out on promotions in the past because of it.

Either your hair in a french braid or down seems to be the best option.

Best of luck, please respond if this helps.

EDIT: I realize some of these products might be out of your price range. I do have cheaper methods if you are interested, however the more expensive products are more frugal because they last longer in the long run. They will also keep your hair more healthy and easier to manage. This is just my personal experience though, you can do whatever you like.
