When trying to decide on what power your PC needs a good website to use is http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/ - it'll give you a general idea since I get confused with all the "i7/i5/i3 XXXX gen X" nonsense too.
That'll build you a tower. Then you just need external components. Monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, chair, desk, etc. Depending on what you have available and stuff it can vary so I'll let you price out that stuff.
$1,358 pre-taxes if you go with i7 8700k, and GTX 1060 3 GB. For the tower. Taxes in, plus all the other components you're still looking at pushing close to $2000. That's CND I think. If you do a little shopping around you might get a decent deal on a few items and look into different price points between AMD and Intel if you choose their Board/Chip/GPU combos.
Hopefully this isn't a completely dumb question. I have a gigabyte AB350-gaming 3 mobo, which has 4 DIMM slots 2:2, I recently bought 2x16GB ram though I have 2x4GB installed, the make and brand are the same [corsair vengeance LPX] however the speeds are quite different. My current ram the 2x4 speed is only getting 2133 MHz as is anyways which is below what the new ram is supposed to be rated at. I had it working at 26xx Mhz at one point but ever since turning fast boot haven't been able to get into bios to tinker [I know I need to reset the CMOS by taking the batteyr out but haven't felt entirely confident or like it was necessary but when I install the new ram I intend to since I will be in there anyways]. Anyways to make a long story short, will they be able to play nice or should I just forgo the 8GB and try and run only the 16?

I have this ram kit in my computer, installed in this motherboard (in case that's relevant). I found out the hard way that 8 gigs isn't enough and would like to upgrade, but getting another kit like the one I have would cost around the same as 32GB of another model. Will it be possible/worthwhile to add 16 gigs of a different kind on top of the 8 I have (and if so - which) or should I just go for a 16GB kit and throw out what I currently have?
Edit: The specs for my current kit and the one I'm considering
RAM is two sets of this, but only set to 2666 12-13-13-28 CR2 with geardown enabled, since my motherboard doesnt seem to like anything above 2800 so I went for the tighter timings.
I'm using an AB350M-Gaming 3 and a Ryzen 5 2400g. I'm having a hard time figuring out which ram to use. Will this ram work in my build?

I'd like to use 3200 2x4 at this price, but I'm not sure if this will work. Any thoughts?
check this set out tell me what u think for 8gb and if i need more ram i can dbl on this later:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0123ZBULW/ref=sr_1_1_twi_col_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1519264728&sr=1-1&keywords=8gb%2Bddr4%2B3200mhz&th=1
this looks like the perfect afforable price to performance bid if i might say so myself, thumbs up or down. Im gonna be holding out for gpu until i have enough for 1060 at least and if the new ling drops by then we should be gucci gang, but i think there only releasing the higher end tier first usally how they drop new product so by like Q3 or even Q4 by that time black friday will be back around so if i can hold out that long im all for it, i think if i have the cash for a 1060 ill jump on it somewhere around 300$ msrp then ill bite.
The difference between the higher and lower RAM in that video seems to be around pretty small (~£5-10) in the UK, seen here and here for example. So you're right in that regard. I should have clarified that I was more comparing it to DDR3 ram, which I bought for very cheap (£28). But looking on amazon, it seems that DDR3 is not sold or much less sold than it used to be. I built my PC last year where DDR3 and 4th gen CPUs/mobos were still fairly popular. It seems that's not the case anymore!
