I don't know if any clinics allow the ones pictured here, but you CAN get completely enclosed Crocs. I have some - like these. Ugly as heck, but I wear them for necropsies (large animals) and other things that might be particularly messy/disgusting, and for international work where I might be exposed to something I don't want to bring back to the US. A quick toss in some disinfectant and they are clean as can be.
I don't wear them on a daily basis like some people do, though.
I second this. I got these shoes for working in a hospital. They are cheap and my feet would not hurt at all during my whole shift. Highly recommend!
Typically I wear chef pants, a t-shirt and an apron. Nike socks (that's what I've worn all my life and they're comfy) and just picked up these shoes which I love: https://www.amazon.com/crocs-Unisex-Bistro-Black-Womens/dp/B0014JKJHK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1492139297&sr=8-5&keywords=croc+black+work
