I don't know if any clinics allow the ones pictured here, but you CAN get completely enclosed Crocs. I have some - like these. Ugly as heck, but I wear them for necropsies (large animals) and other things that might be particularly messy/disgusting, and for international work where I might be exposed to something I don't want to bring back to the US. A quick toss in some disinfectant and they are clean as can be.

I don't wear them on a daily basis like some people do, though.

I second this. I got these shoes for working in a hospital. They are cheap and my feet would not hurt at all during my whole shift. Highly recommend!
