And honestly there's nothing wrong with having multi-use plastic. Just throw it in recycling when you're done with it. We started using plastic for a reason: it's lightweight, durable, and can be made into just about any shape imaginable. The problems start when we just keep throwing it in the trash faster than we can deal with the waste.

Ceramic breaks easily, so it may end up being more of a waste. Metal cutlery is fantastic and is just about the most recyclable thing you can use besides glass. But plastic shouldn't be counted out completely.

If we could just get rid of the goddamn wrappers on everything, that would be GREAT. Forget the plastic shopping bags, THESE are the fucking devil. They're even individually wrapping apple slices now. Individual apple slices. "It's so convenient for my kids," my coworkers tell me.

They can't even be arsed to cut an apple for their kids. They'd rather spend $3.50 on a plastic box full of plastic bags of weird-tasting apple slices.

Fuck it, these people can clean the ocean themselves.
