I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere with my hair and I have learned SO much on this sub so I felt like I owed it to post here to maybe help any wavy peeps out there

My whole life my hair has looked like a giant unruly frizz ball so I am amazed I have finally somewhat cracked the hair code.

My current problem was that I have 2 babies so I needed a hair routine that was insanely low maintenance/easy/fast (as low maintenance as CG can be...). I also needed to be able to shower after my kiddos are asleep and have zero time in the morning - dropping off kids at school and need to not look crazy with wet hair ha also am way too lazy to diffuse or do crazy stuff like the bowl method and all that.

Products:

Devacurl Low Poo (use it every few days)

Devacurl One Conditioner (I prefer this because it’s really good for detangling, my hair seems to also really like it)

Kinky Curly Knot Today - as a leave in conditioner

Kinky Curly Curling Custard - gel

This for shower brushing

This for Plopping

Pillowcase

Medusa Clipping

So I get in the shower and either cowash with deva conditioner or shampoo with deva low poo (depending on how I’m feeling). I use the linked brush to help scrub my scalp, it works good and my scalp seems less itchy now.

Then I’ll wash that out and throw some more deva conditioner on and detangle and brush through with the linked brush. That brush is the bomb highly recommend!

Then flip my hair over and brush it forward over my head to make sure all my hair is hanging. Then I use probably 3 TBS of kinky curly knot today as a leave in conditioner (love this stuff) - I use praying hands and work that all in. I get great clumps with knot today which is why I prefer it to devacurl products). If my clumps are looking good I turn off the water, if they look bad I add a bit more water to clump it up.

Then lastly I add a ton - like handful of Kinky curling custard. Love this gel - it forms a great gel cast. I use praying hands as well to put the gel in. Then while still upside down I will scrunch it a bunch (gently squishing, not too aggressively I’ve learned).

After that come out of the shower and plop in the linked head wrap. I think one of these plop wraps are so worth it, I can’t for the life on me figure out how to wrap it in a T-shirt and make it stay. I keep plopping while I get my kids ready for bed, so prob for an hr or two. After my kids are finally asleep which seems to take forever I take off the plop thing and let my hair really harden up and gel cast while I brush my teeth and stuff. Once there is a gel cast has formed I gently clip my hair up using the Medusa clip method. Medusa clip method was a hugeeee game changer for me - go YouTube that ASAP!!

Sleep on that and in the morning wake up and gently take out the clips. Shake it out, maybe spritz any dry area with water in a spray bottle and scrunch out the crunch.
