Go to Macy's and sample some shit, but you certainly don't need to buy a big bottle and pay MSRP. Find a smell you like then go on amazon or some other awesome perfume deals website that I'm not aware of and find what you want at a better price.
Here's an example: You're in Macy's. You try this shit on. It smells nice. You notice it's over $50 so it must be awesome (according to this arbitrary internet price point). But man, $59 for a little ass bottle of cologne. And even worse, the saleslady is trying to sell you the gift set because you get 800% more smells for free!
