That was the futon I had for 2 years before the new one. There's also a burgundy velvet option for $40 more. While it's not as comfy, it still looked good. Great bang for the buck.
I was thinking about that as well since it's hard finding space to hangout when friends/family are over. I was also thinking about moving the bookshelf by the window somewhere else and putting a small couch there, though I'm not sure if that would make the room too cluttered. Was thinking of something like this:

I don't like it because I can already feel the springs but for the price it's good for overnight guests. One or two nights is fine. The backrest side is the cushy side.
