Quick answers to each bullet:

  • You should learn the entire process before you start, see video links below.
  • The numbering will be a bitch but can be done. Learn the basic process first, then go into tackling this one.
  • Garage is where many of us start. The rain isn't a major factor for most work.
  • Too little information to suggest the "best". See below.

He's super bro-tastic but Ryonet has a bunch of great videos. Start with this one.

Another great video series is CatSpit. He's from a more punk background and is rougher around the edges but has mostly very good information.

A fair word of warning: Screen printing is a simple concept that requires a great deal of skill in several small tasks in order to do it well. If you are looking to do this professionally (including "just selling my t-shirts online") you will have to learn how to fix and prepare art, output films, select appropriate screens, learn to coat and expose those screens, the tao of the squeegee (push and pull), how to operate a press well and efficiently, print curing, and everyone's favorite: cleaning. You will need to research a dozen chemicals, find suppliers, and set up a shop. You will need to invest time and money into several major pieces of equipment not to mention learning how to operate them safely. It's a business and will require work outside of just printing.

On the other hand if you are looking for a new hobby, watch the videos anyway, take a look at this kit. And take your time learning. For hobby types there are a ton of videos and blogs to check out but... Be aware that there is a very high signal to noise ratio in that many of them are garbage with terrible ideas but if you watch/read enough of them you'll see the common threads and what stuff works.

Hope that helped and let us know if you have any other questions.
