I used to have this set of butt plugs, a dildo, and a vibrating butt plug, which were all great. But I got rid of them all when I was moving back home from college and worried someone would find them in the process. Bad idea. It's made of PVC, which is one of the worst materials sex toys can be made of. For the sake of your health, stick with body-safe, non-porous materials.
For a safe anal training set, I recommend Doc Johnson's Mood Naughty Trainer Kit or Titus' Silicone Series Anal Training Butt Plug Kit. There are very few good butt plug sets available. These are the only two I know of that are made of safe materials, are well-designed, and have well-spaced increments.

I'm not sure if you were going to get the Wendy Williams set from Amazon, but since that seems to be the place it's most prominently sold, I should mention that buying sex toys from Amazon, Ebay, or Aliexpress is a bad idea. There's an unacceptably high chance you'll receive a knockoff made of an unsafe material. Best to stick with reputable sex shops, like the ones I've linked to.
Yeah the really small ones won't stay in. They are more for getting you used to the feeling I think. So you can just kinda sit on it and play with a vibrator at the same time or something. I started with this one as well as these plugs. The dildo is large but not huge and sufficiently big enough to stretch you out. The plugs are good size and I foudn that after some sessions just keeping the largest one in for a couple of hours before a session post cleanup makes things easy. Plus its a huge amount of fun stimulating your prostate and getting used to that feeling of being invaded and released. I can't keep more toys around (don't live alone) but if you do I would graduate as quickly as I felt comfortable to more varied ones. Take your time and if you've got the money shop around. A warning about the plugs they have a strong plastic smell.
