I had nearly the same experience (I’m 28w now, second pregnancy, first viable). If it sets your mind at ease at all, my midwife told me the intense symptoms were higher hormones and a stronger pregnancy.
My biggest advice would be to just do things. Don’t ask in advance, because if she’s like me, she will say no. The biggest help my partner ever did was just to do the laundry, or cook dinner, so there wasn’t anything for me to do. And try to be conscious of your mess making. For example, picking up dirty clothes, wipe down the counters, load the dishwasher immediately. Anything that cuts down on the need for deep cleaning. That was the biggest support my partner gave.
As for the crying, I promise a lot of it is just hormones. Give her a big hug and tell her how beautiful she is, and how strong and wonderful she is. If you feel like a broken record, say it a few more times and you should be close to enough. Kidding but serious. It’s really hard to be an independent lady and suddenly be nearly helpless. And it really does help to just hear it over and over and over again.
Offer endless foot and back rubs. I have a long job on my feet but I also would not want to ask so my partner ended up just giving up and rubbing me anyway without asking if I wanted him to.
I hope any of this helps but also hang in there! The sickness gets better (around week 22 for me) and so do the backaches. I also highly a belly support band, you can order them on amazon. It’s saved my back.
