Thanks for the info everyone, I really appreciate the links and input.

I guess i'm still stuck on the question though - is it (or at least, can it be) worth it to buy the higher quality LED or QB lights at this stage in the LED market?

From the Amazon page for the Electric Sky 300 V2, it has some built quality features I am keen on, but there is also this comment, which makes me wonder if it paying the few hundred extra bucks over another system would truly be worth it and if these sorts of claims are true -

" Question:
Other led manufacturers share ppfd numbers, the spectrum, the type of diodes used, etc. how do these compare with samsung lm301b top bin diodes?
Answer:
Far Superior to the standard Meiju product and the boards are patented, produced by you know who and have exotic spectrums, not found in other similar products from Maiju/HLG, etc. Please visit this site for some good info? "" https://moldresistantstrains.com/are-these-not-so-cheap-led-grow-lights-even-worth-the-price/ "" I am crushing it in a 4x2 and 8x3 close (with supplemental lighting), with the ES180 in use in both environments. Phenomenal system and currently the light of choice for the heaviest recorded auto, so far. Aloha. see less

The page goes into some data on this, but i've just gone through so many different claims at this point my head is spinning. I don't mind dropping 700 on a light IF it offers truly greater performance, build quality, durability, lifespan, quality and distance of usable light output, and these sorts of things. But i'd sure feel quite the fool if I dropped 700 on a light that I could pay another company ~300 for with all the performance of the higher end light or even more.
