I replaced the one on my Cabronita bass with an electrosocket.
Much better and looks great, although I had to thread the jack through so it's sticking out from the hole a bit. It won't work with some plugs if you make it flush.
I have that same guitar! Player series tele in butterscotch, easily became my number one when I got it.
A couple mods I did you may want to check out:
Telecaster Control Plate Custom
This plate has the toggle switch slot angled so that when in the bridge position, it isn't butted up against the volume knob. I prefer this over the old-fashioned "turn the control plate all the way around so switch is in the back."

So I think I'm going make a Thinline Tele. Going to build the body and buy a prebuilt neck. What all hardware do I need? Right now I've found:
