Hey what's up. So I'd like to contribute a bit. I don't necessarily eat healthy but I eat Gluten Free. I have a 4 year old with Celiacs Disease. I do not have this condition. Anyway... I have had to come up with snacks for my kid to eat because i LOVE snacks. I snack all day long and I never eat things in front of my kid that he can't have. He knows he has this condition and already feels left out at school and birthday parties so I avoid that at home. Here are my suggestions

  • Crackers, cheese, ham

This one is simple and very easy to travel with. The ham can get wet or moist so it's best to have baby wipes or a way to wash your hands off with after wards.

  • Yogurt, granola, whipped cream

I would advice against omitting the whipped cream. As long as you aren't eating the whole can, there is nothing wrong with experiencing the satisfaction of this delicious treat. Limit yourself to 1 a day and no more than 5 a week.

  • Chewy granola bars, breakfast bars, now with coffee!

I linked my favorite granola type. it's called breakfast on the go and it's a little pouch of granola and nuts and other things. This one I linked has chocolate covered coffee beans in it. SO DELICIOUS! This is apart of my breakfast routine. I eat this, a chewy streusel of some sort, coffee, a tall glass of water, and some fruit.

  • Fruit jars

At walkmart there are this little fruit jars that I love to eat and they're only a dollar and are much better quality than fruit cups or other cheap alternatives. I then use the glasses to root plants, and then I usually end up putting soil in them to give those plants away as gifts. They're really great.

  • Applesauce

WHAT?? THATS NOT A SNACK!!!!! I get the unsweetened kind so that i can feel good about myself.. and then i load that shit up with cinnamon and sugar. That's right.... i literally watch myself pour in teaspoon after teaspoon of sugar and think "Goddamn... well at last I know what I'm eating and no ones tricking me" haha smh. I'm a mess.

  • graze.com has amazing snack packs that they will send to you.

I no longer do this. They are fantastic and I would definitely recommend but I eat so many snacks all the time that I really need to switch it up and just got tired of it for awhile. Come summertime I might start back up again. It's a great service with really really good snacks.

  • Beef jerky

Okay.. so there's a lot of salt. So what? Drink water with it and eat sparingly. The protein will keep you full longer than a bag of chips will.

  • Tortilla chips and salsa

There are so many different kinds of salsa you can pick the one you like. This is a very healthy snack. Salty though so make sure you drink water with this snack to help flush out all that salt. Personally I like to have medium spicy salsa and I throw in a table spoon of cream cheese and heat it up and eat it like this. I don't do it often enough to be considered "unhealthy".

  • Icecream

Icecream is healthy for you if you put fruit in or on it. I only eat strawberry icecream with real strawberries. Then i take froze strawberries and eat the shit out of that in the microwave. I then take a fork and mash those berries to tiny little pulpy pieces and throw it on my healthy snack. Amazing. Just like this.

  • Celery with peanut butter and M&M's

"But Emma! M&M's are candy!" So what? I didn't say ea the whole candy isle! All your doing is making this treat just a bit more palatable. I definitely recommend this. It's okay to have little bits and pieces of candy. everything here is within reason and all considered healthy as long as you're not eating a family sized bag by yourself in one sitting.

  • Rice cakes

These are disgusting. But some people really love them. They have all different kinds of flavors, they're gluten free and mostly sugar free. You can put peanut butter on it for that extra protein and full feeling, or you can put jelly on it for a little sweetness.

  • Help me i'm so hungry right now at work with no breakfast or lunch and it's raining so i dont want to risk it and drive away. AAH!
