All projectors (except LED projectors) dim over time as the bulb gets used. The Epson 730HD lamp should last for 4,000 to 5,000 hours. When the bulb dies, it'll cost $92.50 for a new lamp.

If you can stretch your budget, I would strongly recommend something like the Epson 2040 which on sale for $500 when it's normally $700-$750. Here is a review from one of my favorite projector sites.

Whats your budget? I have this in my home theatre and I would recommend it fully, but it is kinda pricey.

Here is a layout of the area with my proposed plan. My basement has very nice 10' ceilings and I'm excited about the possibilities. I added a nice big remnant of carpet and hung a large projector screen in one end of the basement. I have been framing walls and running wires, now I just need to pull the trigger on a receiver, speakers and projector. I have an old projector but the pixels are dying and it's pretty crap-quality.

In that budget range, this Epson Home Cinema 2040 would do a very good job for you.

I'm in the same boat. I haven't found any prime day projector deals so far.

EDIT

Actually there seems to be a few projectors available. I did a search for Electronics over $200 on the Prime Day home page and found these:

Not sure which ones are worthwhile though. Trying to figure that out now.
