I noticed the same thing with my buddha hand citron. It has the same watering and fertilizing schedule as my persian and mexican limes. The limes had several flushes of blossoms throughout the summer. The buddha hand only had green growth. Now that I've brought them in for the winter (into a windowless room with lights on timers), the buddha hand grew over twenty buds this past week. A gardening friend suspects it thrives with consistent temperature. The mexican lime is also budding, though not as immensely as the buddha hand.

The regiment is:

  • Watering weekly.

  • Alternating, one week the water contains a liquid fertilizer and epsom salts. The other I add a small amount of Citrus-tone around the edges of the pots. Now that the plants are indoors, I've cut back on the amount. Mainly because it's rather smelly.

I first read about Citrus-tone after reading The Citrus Guy blog. He swears by it, and I find myself agreeing.

What area are you in? Do you ever fertilize this tree?

Edit: just saw from your other post that you are in SoCal. The good news is that it doesn’t look like psyllid or greening damage. It looks like a severe nutrient deficiency. Buy this and follow the instructions: https://www.amazon.com/Espoma-CT4-4-Pound-Citrus-tone-5-2-6/dp/B001H1LS8E

Here’s an 18 pound bag. You have a decent sized tree, you’ll want the big bag for several uses. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F2QOV70/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8sDVDbKCRPWF2
