The drive that you purchased is 5400rpm (Seen here), which is similar to the drive inside the Xbox. If you want something that won't yield any bugs/crashes, a 7200rpm drive is what you'd be looking for. Such as this, which comes in at only $80, and is 2TB 7200rpm. It comes with the USB cable needed, and according to Amazon reviews works well with the Xbox One. All you should have to do is format the drive when you plug it into your Xbox (which it will come up with a screen to do so when it gets plugged in.)

I also agree that it's insane that they made a game that can't even run properly on their hardware, but that's Microsoft for ya lol; they want you to buy the Xbox branded hard drives/ Xbox One X.

This is the one I'm looking into myself. Nice space and hits all the requirements for faster load times. I'm not sure on noise but it seems promising. Anybody have some input on it?

I'd suggest you use a 3½-inch 7200 rpm USB3 disk. These have a price cut at Amazon.

Fantom 2 TB 7200 RPM USB 3.0/2.0 External Hard Drive with 3-Year Warranty (GF3B2000UP)

Loading times are a little faster than the internal hd with it.

Sorry, missed that bit. Best option might be to go with something like this guy. The video doesn't mention gaming at all, and 7200 rpm is much better for more intensive things such as that.

BEST?

Well... that'd be one of these and a Thunderbolt-to-USB 3 adapter if it works lol.

Other than that, anything 7200 RPMs w/ USB 3.0 capability ought to be fine.

Perhaps this.

Now, the question you'll really have to ask yourself is whether you want "best" or easiest to manage. The "best" drives will require an alternative power source. The more portable drives will be USB-powered.
