To keep portability in mind, I'd recommend either the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin or Gigabyte Aero 15W, both of which are thin and light gaming devices that will be able to run the games you listed. Both have the 6-core i7 processor and GTX 1060 graphics card. It will perform in the games you listed very well. Display is a 144Hz on both.
Since you're open to expanding to $2,200, you can get the upgraded models: the other MSI GS65 Stealth Thin and Gigabyte Aero 15X.
If you want to spend all your budget I would go with GIGABYTE AERO 15W

If you need to save some money I would rather choose Acer Predator Helios 300 with 144Hz refresh rate display.

I would recommend this [Gigabyte Aero] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CD9VVVZ/?tag=bkadamos_alltest-20) because it comes with everything you need, 8th generation, i7 hexa core CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 16GB of ram for smooth multitasking, good SSD storage of 512GB for faster boot up and loading, 15.6 inch Full HD IPS 144Hz screen which is a must have for this price range, high build quality, long battery life, GeForce GTX 1060 GPU that should be able to handle games on medium to high settings with very good FPs, lightweight, and it’s within your budget.
For programing at this price range I would advise you to check one of those laptops

this one looks like a perfect fit and it has an i7 8th gen and a bit more powerful GPU,it also has a 144hz screen that is actually good for color work and not a crappy gaming panel,it also has nice battery life (~8 hours according to youtubers and your usage).
OH and have you considered U series chips? i mean web development doesn't require much compiling as it requires real time performance so a quad core U series will have much much more battery and still decent performance.Reply to me if you watn to know some options
Within that budget and range and based on the fact that you are looking for high performance laptop with a good build quality, solid and crunchy keyboard and importantly, with a good battery life, this new GIGABYTE Aero 15W v8-BK4 would be your best bet and of course, a very good pick.
It has the new and powerful i7-8750H 6 cores processor, 16 GB RAM, a fast 512 GB SSD and a powerful GTX 1060 graphics card. In addition, it has a beautiful 144Hz 1920x1080 IPS display that supports the GTX 1060 graphics card .
In addition to performance, it has a huge 94.24Wh battery that drives laptop approximately 10 hrs and a Gigabyte Fusion Per Key RGB Keyboard .
You will more than likely like its slim metal chassis and overall aesthetics as well
I thank you for all your help. I am having trouble discerning the performance differences between the GPUs in the above linked P65 versus the PS63. If the 1050Ti performs seemingly just as well, should other machines such as the Thinkpad X1 Extreme, Razer Blade 15, or Asus Zenbook Pro 15, Gigabyte Aero 15x? Could better performance and durability come from a laptop that from a workstation line such as the Precision line from Dell or the P series of Lenovo's Thinkpads? Would better battery come from such machines? I am sorry for asking so many questions but I want to make the most informed choice and you are very knowledge and helpful. Also, I can forgo the aesthetic of the device so long as it doesn't look overly like a gaming laptop.
At the mentioned budget, you have almost every option available.
Dell XPS 15
Explicitly NOT a gaming laptop but with the specs of one. Is 0.66 inches thin, weighing in at 2.0kgs. Best screen in terms of brightness, crisp images and colour reproduction. Also, the best in terms of customer support. Produces the least heat of the three.

Razer Blade 15
Happy Diwali all year round. 0.66 inches thin, looks and feels like a Macbook Pro. Is a gaming beast inside. Gets hot, but thermal management is at it's best. But the fans won't be always silent. Imagine a Macbook Pro but which can game as well as the other things Apple is the best at.

Gigabyte Aero 15
Priciest and the bulkiest of the bunch at 0.8 inches thick (albeit the same weight as the XPS). The 144Hz screen is going to be a blessing for a MOBA like HotS. Despite being heavily gamer oriented, has ultrabook level battery life.

Is this your model? It says it fully supports 2 M.2 PCIe SSDs.
