I didn't even realize that it was a micro ATX motherboard, oops. Thanks for catching that! I think I will go with the Gigabyte GA-H170-Gaming 3 then. And yes, the case does allow for larger mobos.
Thanks!
I'm on an Intel i5 6600K. I'll try it without the wands and see if that improves - any tips on what specific software optimizations you do to improve the AMD?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015CQ8D46/ This is my motherboard, the WiGig card is using the x4 slot and my graphics card is using the x16. It's not super noticeable when I'm in game, but the SteamVR hub is VERY choppy. If the 3m works, it'll get my transmitter up above me, but I'm not entirely convinced the transmitter placement is the issue. I'll tweak a few things and see what I can find.
I made a mistake thats why I took it off XD
This is what I have

Also as Xkewl said you can skip the cooler if you're not going for an overclock-able processor. I built a pc recently with i5 6500 with stock cooler, temps are normal and it runs just fine.
I'm considering this Gigabyte motherboard.
Any better options, or at least ones worth considering, that are ATX, H170, and have a red/black color scheme?
Hey. I'm trying to decide between these two motherboards. Which one do you think is better? ( I will be getting a RX 480 and a i5-6500)

Sorry I took so long to respond. No, that motherboard won't work either. It uses the AM3+ socket
You look like you want an ATX board around $100, this motherboard will work, but it's just a suggestion.

I was going to keep my current ram, 2 8gig corsair chips. I can't remember the clock speed on them though. The mobo was some I found on amazon since I have a 100dollar amazon gift card but I think I'm going to go with one of the Gigabyte ones because my current Gigabyte has been nice but I'm open to suggestions.
I was mainly looking at theses 2:

and

Edit: found the ram, it's only 1333mHz but it is 3 years old too and I'll probably upgrade to ddr4 when I get the chance seeing as 2 8gig chips of ddr4 are as expensive as a single one of my 8gig ddr3's back in the day.
