Mate has more caffeine. My schedule is identical to yours and black tea just does not cut it. If you like coffee to be sweet I suggest going for Guayaki Chocolate Mate. Otherwise I really enjoy "Carnival Mate", I've seen nearly the same blend sold on different websites. Guayaki can be purchased in quite a few stores so if you don't want to buy it online that might be the easier option. All of the flavors the brand offer are pretty good.

Also, sorry if this is TMI but if you need the drink to help move things along digestively Mate is better for that as well.
Seconding the Guayaki "Mate Chocolatte"! I haven't done this in a long while, but I used to use it as a base; infused some almond-coconut milk with the tea and added chocolate-flavored liquid stevia to make delicious "hot chocolate" on the stove. :)
