This is the #1 complaint for movies based on books.

I just don't even bother. The book is an inspiration for a movie. Often a book can take 8-40 hours to read. movies are 90-120 minutes. There will always be differences.

But anyway, yes the book and movie are very different, but they are both awesome, and I think the movie did a pretty great job adding some zing while retaining the basic framework and attitude.

Oddly enough, if you read, and like starship troopers, a couple of the Halo books are pretty good, and sort of a similar story. (super suits & scary aliens)

In a weird way, the extended development time between Halo 5 and Infinite has provided such a great opportunity to dive into the extended universe for a Halo fix. I am addicted and burning through the novels now.
